Description
We’re currently recruiting for an Account Executive to drive revenue growth and build lasting relationships across our South Australian Public Sector customer base. This is a quota-carrying sales role that plays a critical role in our success and will see you partnering with state government agencies to support their goals through innovative, cloud-based solutions.
As part of our broader Public Sector team, you’ll represent Salesforce within the South Australian government ecosystem, leading the full sales cycle from territory planning and lead qualification through to negotiation, close, and long-term customer success. You'll focus on building strategic, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders and positioning Salesforce as a long-term partner in driving public value and digital transformation.
Some of the things you’ll be doing include:
Create and implement effective territory and account plans for the specified region/customer base to deliver sales objectives. This includes understanding public sector opportunities, customer business priorities (such as regulatory changes or government initiatives), and long-term procurement cycles. The AE will position our outstanding product capabilities and unique value proposition for government entities.
Meet and exceed sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
Lead and leverage a matrix account team of Sales Consultants, Business Development Representatives, Services Practice Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales Support, and Customer Success Professionals to develop and manage the sales pipeline and enhance customer relationships and value.
Build and manage strategic partner alliances and relationships as part of the fully integrated account and territory plan.
Manage and track customer and transactional information in a CRM system, providing regular and accurate reporting of pipeline and forecast.
Nurture and expand relationships with public sector accounts of varying sizes by building trust and understanding their unique challenges, regulatory requirements, and industry shifts.
Drive customer success by developing a deep understanding of public sector challenges, including budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving government policies. The AE will stay ahead of competitive issues and demonstrate how our solutions meet these challenges.
Practice effective and excellent communication with leadership, customers, extended teams, and partners, ensuring alignment with public sector needs and priorities.
Participate in team-building and company-growth activities such as strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing efforts, and customer care.
Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts, particularly within the South Australian Public Sector.
