About the Role:
We're looking for an exceptional Lead Solution Engineer to join our ANZ team, focusing on B2C Commerce Cloud solutions. In this role, the focus is about helping major retailers create world-class online shopping experiences. You'll be the trusted technical advisor for our most strategic commerce customers, leading complex pre-sales engagements and driving digital transformation across the retail and eCommerce landscape in the ANZ market. As a Lead Solution Engineer, you'll combine deep B2C Commerce platform expertise with outstanding business acumen to design and articulate compelling solutions that solve our customers' most challenging business problems. You'll work closely with Account Executives, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and customer success.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales Leadership
Lead complex B2C Commerce Cloud sales cycles from discovery through to close, acting as the primary technical advisor
Develop and deliver innovative, custom solutions that address customer business requirements across retail, fashion, consumer goods, and other B2C industries
Coordinate the entire solution cycle through close collaboration with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Partner teams
Present compelling Salesforce Commerce Cloud solutions to audiences ranging from developers and IT teams through to C-level executives
Conduct collaborative discovery workshops to understand customer business challenges, technical landscape, and digital commerce maturity
Design and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions showcasing Commerce Cloud capabilities including PWAKit, headless commerce, personalization, and omnichannel experiences
Technical Expertise
Translate complex customer challenges into secure, scalable Commerce Cloud architectural solutions
Provide deep technical guidance on B2C Commerce platform capabilities including PWAKit, OCAPI/SCAPI, performance optimization, data modeling, and DevOps practices
Design integration architectures connecting Commerce Cloud with payment gateways, tax engines, order management, ERP, marketing automation, and other enterprise systems
Champion Commerce Cloud best practices for multi-site architecture, internationalization, personalization, mobile commerce, and headless implementations
Stay current with Commerce Cloud product roadmap and new capabilities, translating these into customer value propositions
Strategic Partnership
Serve as trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business goals, competitive landscape, and growth strategies
Articulate the business value and ROI of Commerce Cloud solutions at every level of the customer organization
Collaborate with System Integrator partners to design comprehensive implementation approaches
Contribute to the broader ANZ Commerce practice through knowledge sharing, best practice development, and mentoring of junior SEs
Build deep industry expertise in retail, fashion, consumer goods, and other B2C verticals relevant to the ANZ market
Required Experience & Skills:
Essential
Solid experience in enterprise eCommerce, digital commerce consulting, solution engineering, or related technical pre-sales roles
Hands-on experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud (Demandware platform) or similar eCommerce platform.
Deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising, digital marketing, customer experience, and omnichannel commerce
Strong technical knowledge of eCommerce architecture including content management, catalog management, promotion engines, order management, payment processing, and fulfillment
Proven track record of successfully leading complex technical sales cycles and closing enterprise deals
Exceptional presentation and communication skills with ability to engage audiences from technical practitioners to executive leadership
Strong business acumen with ability to understand customer P&Ls, business cases, and ROI models
Experience working in or selling into the ANZ market with understanding of local retail landscape, consumer behaviors, and regulatory requirements
Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, fast-paced team environments
Proven time management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities
Preferred
B2C Commerce Architect Certification
Experience with PWAKit and modern headless commerce architectures
Knowledge of OCAPI/SCAPI, performance optimization, and data modeling
Understanding of Commerce Cloud integration patterns and DevOps practices
Experience with adjacent Salesforce clouds (Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Order Management, Revenue Cloud)
Knowledge of modern eCommerce technologies including AI/ML for personalization, composable commerce, and mobile-first design
Experience with international and multi-site commerce implementations
Strong technical writing skills for functional specifications and architectural documentation
Understanding of SEO, conversion rate optimization, and digital analytics
Familiarity with competitive commerce platforms and ability to articulate Salesforce differentiation
