Overview of the Role:

The Secrets Management team, within the Data Security organization, is looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Engineer. As a technical leader on the team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing and maintaining robust secrets management solutions consumed programmatically by services and applications. You will work closely with internal customers to glean requirements and lead with a “customer backwards” mindset. You will lead multiple initiatives in parallel, mentor junior engineers via code reviews and technical guidance, and leverage generative AI to maximize productivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our security posture and streamline operations. You will work on building solutions for challenging problem statements to improve our service availability and performance.

Responsibilities:

* Experience and passion for service ownership, building scalable, reliable/self-healing services.

* Lead architecture and implementation for public cloud security services specially in public cloud

* Lead architecture roadmap for IaC (Infrastructure as Code) on public cloud

* Security and privacy primitives including understanding of cryptography concepts.

* Follow trends in technology and apply new security approaches for device-identity, authentication, attestation, key-storage, and management.

* Prototype new features that will enable and secure both real-time and non-realtime peer-to-peer communication over heterogeneous networks.

* Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience, and performance.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.

* 5+ years of hands-on experience working in a software development role in a product based software technology company.

* 3+ years experience in development in public cloud environments (AWS preferred; GCP a plus)

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

* Vision Execution: Ability to translate strategic goals to technical and tactical requirements and architecture design.

* Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code).

* Experience with public cloud security services.

* Experience with container and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

* Experience with cloud computing architectures and the associated security designs and challenges.

* Hands-on experience and active coding skills using at least one of Golang, Java, C#, Python, Rust, C/C++.

* Experience with the Secrets Management space (Hashicorp Vault experience is a plus).

* Knowledge working with non-relational and relational databases including AWS DynamoDB, Cassandra and Postgres.

* Familiarity with open source technologies.

* Proficiency in operating systems and shell scripting.

* Demonstrated skills using Generative AI for software development (SDLC).

* Proficient in networking technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS or load balancers. Experience with TLS and mTLS is mandatory.

* Experience with Scrum and/or other agile development methodologies, with attention to code quality, delivering secure working software every sprint.

* Demonstrated competence in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment

* Strong cross-functional leadership and team building skills.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience engaging with customers regarding security.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent.

* Experience with PKI/X.509 and knowledge of OWASP.

* Experience implementing zero trust security models.
