Description
Lead the architectural design and evolution of MuleSoft's mission-critical Runtime Manager (ARM) and Universal Management Platform (UMP). This is the central Control Plane for the Anypoint Platform—a sophisticated microservices-based ecosystem orchestrating high-throughput workloads and multi-tenant infrastructure across 8+ AWS regions. You will be responsible for the systems that manage application lifecycles and deployment orchestration for the world’s most demanding distributed environments.
What You'll Do
Define technical strategy and architecture for 40+ microservices handling millions of requests daily
Drive design decisions for deployment orchestration, service discovery, and capacity management systems
Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of multi-tenant, multi-region cloud infrastructure
Lead cross-functional teams in modernizing and evolving the platform on Kubernetes
Establish architectural standards for event-driven systems and distributed workflows
What We're Looking For
Required
Deep expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems design
Strong hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot in production environments
Proven track record with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
Event-driven architecture expertise (Kafka, messaging systems)
Production operations mindset with a focus on reliability and observability
Experience designing for scale, multi-tenancy, and high availability
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm)
Preferred
Distributed orchestration expertise (Temporal, workflow engines, or equivalent)
Multi-region deployment architectures and automated region build
Familiarity with integration platforms or the MuleSoft ecosystem
Security and compliance experience in SaaS environments
