Overview

Have you ever attended a Salesforce event or watched one of our keynotes on Salesforce+ and been wowed by the product demonstrations? That's our team, and we're hiring!

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a group of senior and mid-level engineers building innovative, high-impact demo experiences that showcase the future of Salesforce.

This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of complex demo initiatives. You will guide engineers as they design and build visually compelling, interactive, and occasionally physical demo experiences, while ensuring technical quality, delivery predictability, and alignment with product strategy.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers responsible for building demo applications and prototype systems for Salesforce events and product launches

  • Partner closely with product marketing, demo architects, designers, and product teams to translate product strategy into clear technical execution plans

  • Provide technical direction and architectural oversight for demo software and integrated physical experiences used in keynotes and innovation centers

  • Coach and mentor engineers through regular feedback, career development, and hands-on technical guidance

  • Drive execution across multiple parallel demo efforts, balancing experimentation with delivery commitments

  • Own planning, estimation, and prioritization for assigned demo initiatives

  • Ensure high standards of code quality, reliability, and maintainability across prototypes and installations

  • Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging technologies such as AI, computer vision, AR, robotics, or IoT into demo experiences

  • Manage external vendors and contractors when specialized skills or capacity are required

  • Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve demo development processes and team effectiveness

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineers

  • Strong background in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and platforms such as React, Angular, Vue, Node, or similar

  • Familiarity with source control, cloud platforms, and deployment tooling such as Git, AWS, and Heroku

  • Proven ability to lead through influence in cross-functional environments

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing web and native mobile applications

  • Ability to translate high-fidelity designs into functional prototypes

  • Experience building on the Salesforce platform including Apex, Lightning Web Components, Aura, and Salesforce administration

  • Experience with Salesforce unit testing and package management

  • Experience designing interfaces for non-traditional form factors such as large displays, immersive environments, automotive dashboards, or AR and VR

  • Solid object-oriented programming fundamentals

  • Familiarity with backend concepts including REST APIs, microservices, and server-side development

  • Familiarity with iOS, xCode, and Swift development

  • Experience integrating software with custom hardware or experimental devices

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects from concept through live deployment
