Description
This role is a critical technical resource supporting our highest-visibility revenue drivers. We are hiring a Sr. Technical Email Lead to architect and execute complex, global email campaigns across AMER and EMEA using advanced SQL, HTML/CSS, and AMPScript. This hire will serve as the technical email marketing bridge between data engineering and marketing execution, managing backend data architecture, global automation workflows, Journey Builder orchestration, and compliance, while driving next-generation "Agentic" email innovation within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. The East Coast location is strategic to provide real-time technical support for EMEA business hours while covering AMER campaigns.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Advanced Technical Development & Architecture
Architect Dynamic Email Solutions: Lead the technical execution of complex, dynamic email builds using HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
Technical Email Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS specifically for email; ability to troubleshoot responsive design issues and ensure cross-client compatibility (e.g., Litmus testing).
Next-Gen "Agentic" & Interactive Email: Develop and deploy two-way, interactive email experiences (e.g., in-email event registration, dynamic polling) for flagship events like Dreamforce and World Tours.
Scripting & Personalization Logic: Utilize advanced AMPScript to write custom, from-scratch logic within email templates to handle complex versioning. Engineer rule-based conditional rendering and data-driven personalization to support Key and Top Account ABM strategies.
2. Data Engineering & Audience Segmentation
SQL & Data Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries to define audience segments, managing data extensions, suppression logic, and daily automation imports.
Data Architecture Governance: Partner with Data 360/Engineering teams to define data requirements, ensuring attribute readiness for journeys while troubleshooting audience volume discrepancies and sync failures.
Data Flow & Automation Management: Manage the flow of data imports and triggers via SFTP and Data 360 to drive the logic, timing, and accuracy of behavior-based messaging and automated journeys.
3. Journey Orchestration & Automation
Advanced Automation Studio Operations: Architect and manage complex workflows in Automation Studio, including file triggers, scheduled activities, and multi-step data transforms to ensure seamless backend operations.
Lifecycle Program Management: Build and manage mature, multi-step automated journeys in Journey Builder (triggered sends, decision splits, wait logic, and exit criteria).
Global Configuration Management: Operate within a multi-Business Unit (BU) environment, managing shared data extensions and global configurations to ensure consistent deployment across AMER and EMEA regions.
4. Performance, Optimization & Compliance
Reporting Architecture & Tableau Integration: Ensure all journey and event-send data is structured correctly for downstream reporting; provide oversight on data flows to Tableau dashboards to ensure visibility into performance metrics.
Technical Optimization: execute A/B testing frameworks and performance measurement to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
Deliverability & Compliance: Serve as the regional lead for email compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR), managing consent attributes, preference center integrations, and global deliverability reputation.
Deliverability & QA Excellence: Utilize Litmus and Inbox Monster to ensure cross-client compatibility and monitor global deliverability reputation.
Operational Efficiency: Streamline production workflows by reducing manual operational gaps and establishing technical templates for faster scale.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
ESP Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), specifically Journey Builder, Contact Builder, and Automation Studio.
Coding Proficiency: Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Responsive Design for email. Experience with scripting languages (AMPScript, SSJS, or similar) for complex personalization.
Data Proficiency: Strong SQL skills for querying databases, creating audience segments, and managing data schemas.
Strategic & Operational Experience
Regional Scope: Experience working in a global or multi-BU environment (AMER/EMEA) with an understanding of regional data nuances.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to work with Technical Product Managers, Data Engineers, and Marketing Operations.
Certifications: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant (or Email Specialist) certification preferred. Certified Marketing Cloud Developers
