Description

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Product Marketing Lead to own the messaging and positioning foundation for Salesforce's Small and Medium Business segment — and the research that makes it bulletproof.

This is a role for a rare kind of marketer: someone who can go deep into buyer and customer truth, synthesize what they find into a clear and differentiated point of view, and then write it in a way that makes sales reps, executives, and customers all say "yes, that's exactly it." You'll own the SMB master messaging framework — the document that everything else is built on — and you'll be the person who keeps it current, sharp, and grounded in reality.

You'll also lead buyer and customer research, and partner with our brand, campaigns, and agency teams to bring the SMB story to life in content and creative campaigns. This isn't a role for someone who manages work. It's a role for someone who does it — and does it exceptionally well.

You'll report to the VP of Global SMB Marketing and work closely with the broader SMB PMM team, Product, Sales, and Field Marketing.

What You'll Do:

Messaging & Positioning

Own the SMB master messaging framework — the definitive articulation of who the SMB buyer is, what they care about, and why Salesforce (across Agentforce Sales, Service, and Marketing, Slack, and more) is the answer. You write it, defend it, evolve it, and make sure every downstream asset reflects it.

Buyer & Customer Research

Design and run the research that keeps the team ahead of the market — buyer interviews, customer conversations, win/loss analysis, competitive monitoring, and segment studies. You turn raw insight into strategic clarity and share it in ways the team can actually use.

Content & Creative Campaigns

Translate the messaging framework into compelling content and creative campaigns — working with our brand, campaigns, and agency partners to brief, shape, and pressure-test work until it's great. You know what good looks like and you're not afraid to say when something isn't there yet.

Cross-Functional Alignment

Be the messaging authority that product managers, AEs, and exec stakeholders trust. You can walk into a room with senior leaders, present a point of view, take hard questions, and come out with alignment.

What You Bring:

  • Exceptional writer and strategic thinker — you can move fluidly between a research debrief, a messaging doc, and a creative brief without losing quality in any of them

  • Deep experience developing B2B messaging and positioning frameworks, from first principles through to final copy

  • Hands-on experience designing and running buyer or customer research — not just commissioning it

  • Strong instincts for what makes a campaign idea compelling, and the craft to brief it precisely

  • Comfortable working across a broad, multi-product portfolio and distilling it into a coherent, simple story

  • Able to hold a strong point of view under pressure — you earn alignment through insight and clear thinking, not consensus-building

  • 8+ years in B2B product marketing, with meaningful time in SaaS or technology

  • Experience marketing to SMB buyers strongly preferred

Why This Role

The SMB messaging opportunity at Salesforce is genuinely wide open. The segment is growing fast, the product portfolio has never been stronger, and the AI story — Agentforce as a turn-key hire for lean businesses — is one of the most compelling in the market right now. What's missing is someone who can make it undeniable in words.

That's this role. You'll own the narrative that everything else is built on, and you'll have the research, the creative partnerships, and the organizational access to make it great.

This team moves fast, does the work, and holds a high bar. If you want to spend your time in meetings managing stakeholders — this isn't it. If you want to write the most important B2B messaging doc of your career and see it show up everywhere — keep reading.
