Description

The Senior Director, Product Management - Security role is part of the Trusted Services product organization within Salesforce Platform. Trusted Services builds the security, compliance, and data protection products that help our customers protect their most sensitive data — including Event Monitoring, Security Center, Platform Encryption, and Security Mesh. As a team, we're responsible for making Salesforce the most trusted enterprise platform in the world.

We're looking for someone to bring deep security product expertise and strategic thinking to our team. You'll partner with our VP of Product to identify the problems worth solving, spot gaps in our portfolio, and guide our product strategy with real-world security knowledge. You'll work across our product management team to elevate their security domain expertise, build critical internal partnerships, and help us make better strategic decisions about where to invest. If you've built enterprise security products and want to shape the future of security at the world's number one AI CRM, this is your opportunity.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Portfolio Strategy & Problem Definition

  • Identify security product gaps and growth opportunities by analyzing competitive landscapes, emerging threats, compliance trends, and customer needs

  • Guide strategic decisions on where to invest, what problems to solve, and whether to build, buy, or partner

  • Develop business cases and strategic recommendations for new security products and major portfolio expansions

  • Translate market intelligence and security expertise into actionable product strategy and roadmap priorities

  • Partner with other product managers on the team to define the right problems to solve

Internal Strategy & Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Build strategic relationships with Engineering leadership, Product Security teams, InfoSec, GRC, and other product organizations to align on security priorities

  • Represent Trusted Services in cross-functional strategy discussions and portfolio planning forums

  • Guide product direction on security standards, integration approaches, and customer requirements

  • Lead strategic customer escalations that require deep security expertise and product judgment

  • Inform mergers and acquisitions strategy through technical due diligence and market analysis

Team Mentorship & Domain Expertise

  • Mentor product managers on security domain knowledge, helping them understand threats, compliance requirements, and enterprise security operations

  • Serve as a resource and thought partner for the team on complex security product decisions

  • Elevate the team's credibility and expertise through coaching and shared learning

  • Help product managers balance customer needs, business value, and security best practices

Customer & Market Validation

  • Engage with strategic customers and CISO advisory members to validate problems, gather requirements, and test strategic direction

  • Participate in customer meetings to understand real-world security challenges and use cases

  • Support external thought leadership as the portfolio and your expertise become visible in the market

  • Bring customer and practitioner perspective back to inform internal strategy and priorities

You're Our Person If...

  • You have 10 plus years of experience building enterprise security products in areas such as SIEM, threat detection, data protection, identity and access management, cloud security, or security monitoring platforms

  • You have product management experience that required deep security domain expertise, and you can speak credibly about what security teams need and why

  • You can identify the right problems to solve and translate security expertise into product strategy without needing to design the technical solution

  • You have experience influencing decisions through expertise and relationships, not authority, and collaborating across product, engineering, and security organizations

  • You believe security products should be transparent, easy to use, and solve real problems that make customers' lives better — not just check compliance boxes

Even Better If...

  • You have hands-on security practitioner experience such as CISO staff, security architect, or security operations roles that inform your product perspective

  • You have worked at enterprise security software companies building products for CISOs, security operations, or compliance teams

  • You have experience with cloud-native security, SaaS security posture management, or data security and privacy products

  • You have participated in product strategy, competitive positioning, or market expansion decisions

  • You have presented at security conferences, contributed to industry standards, or published security thought leadership
