Description
The Experience
We're building a new internal cloud platform for network security controls and management. Our mission: develop highly-available, performant distributed systems that provide security at the network level across Salesforce's public cloud — microsegmentation, network policy distribution, access control, distributed firewalls, and DDoS prevention. Our scope spans VMs and containers across cloud compute substrates.
We're a team focused on securing Salesforce's public cloud at the network layer. We design and operate platforms that enforce security policy across a multi-cloud, multi-substrate environment. If you're passionate about distributed systems, networking, and building security infrastructure at scale, reach out!
What You'll Do
Architect and implement distributed systems for network-level security controls — policy management, ACL enforcement, distributed firewalls, and DDoS/network protection
Develop microservices to support our network security platforms at cloud infrastructure and distributed platform levels
Research and implement networking security solutions for intra and cross-region network flows
Operate security platforms in a full DevOps model — you build it, you run it
Elevate engineering excellence through code reviews and mentorship
Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.
Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.
Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.
Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
You're Our Person If You Have:
2 years in SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS software development
2 years in a high-availability 24/7 environment (cloud platforms a plus)
A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering — using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty.
Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows.
Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready.
Proficiency in Go, Java, C++, or Python
A related technical degree is required.
Even Better If You Have:
Network security platforms — segmentation, ACLs, DDoS protection
Cloud network architecture (VPCs, security groups, NACLs, transit gateways, PrivateLink)
Cloud security services (AWS Shield, WAF, Azure Firewall, GCP Cloud Armor)
Container networking and service mesh (Cilium, Calico)
Strong fundamentals in networking protocols (TCP/UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS) and the OSI model
Auth frameworks (SSO, SAML, OAuth), secure transport (TLS/SSL), and identity management (certs, PKI)
DevOps orientation — you test, monitor, deploy, and maintain what you build
