Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled HPE Aruba Premium Support Engineer to provide expert-level technical support for HPE Aruba ClearPass, AirWave, and Central On-Prem. This role involves troubleshooting complex network security issues, managing customer escalations, and ensuring high availability of and performance of HPE Aruba solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting), NAC (Network Access Control), RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP, network monitoring, and centralized network management and security mechanisms like 802.1X, PKI, and encryption standards, along with experience in enterprise network security and wireless technologies.
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide premium-level technical support for HPE Aruba ClearPass (NAC), AirWave (network monitoring), and Central On-Prem (network management).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA), RADIUS, TACACS+, and 802.1X issues in HPE Aruba ClearPass.
- Support HPE Aruba AirWave for network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Provide expertise on HPE Aruba Central On-Prem, managing configurations, troubleshooting device connectivity, and optimizing network performance.
- Work closely with enterprise customers, partners, and internal teams to resolve critical issues and provide timely support.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network security and management issues.
- Assist customers with software upgrades, patches, and migrations for ClearPass, AirWave, and Central On-Prem.
- Collaborate with HPE Aruba engineering and product teams to identify bugs, propose enhancements, and improve platform stability.
- Document troubleshooting procedures, best practices, and create knowledge base articles for internal and external use.
- Provide technical training and mentoring to customers and junior support engineers.
- Support network integration with Active Directory (AD), LDAP, PKI, SAML, OAuth, and third-party security solutions.
- Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Typically 6-10 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong proficiency in RADIUS, TACACS+, and LDAP for secure authentication and access control.
- In-depth understanding of 802.1X, PKI, firewalls, VPNs, endpoint security, and encryption standards.
- Extensive experience working with HPE Aruba ClearPass, Cisco ISE, or similar AAA solutions, as well as AirWave and Central On-Prem for network monitoring and management.
- Solid grasp of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching, ensuring seamless network operations.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in log analysis, packet captures, and debugging complex network issues.
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, and automation tools for efficient troubleshooting and task automation (a plus).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, technical documentation skills, and customer communication to ensure clarity and efficiency in issue resolution.
- Proven ability to manage critical customer escalations and perform effectively in fast-paced, high-stakes support environments.
Preferred Certifications:
- Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP)
- Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP)
- Aruba Certified Network Security Expert (ACNX)
- Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP)
- Other security/network certifications (CCNP, Palo Alto, etc.) are a plus.
