Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Location: Jharkhand/ Chhattisgarh

About the Role

As a Quality Control Officer at Apna Mart, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety through meticulous inspection, sampling, and testing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in grain handling operations. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to quality excellence.

Key Responsibilities of a Quality Control Officer:-

1. Inspection and Sampling:

  • Conduct visual inspections and mechanical measurements to assess the type, class, and quality of incoming grain.​
  • Collect representative grain samples using automated or manual grain probes.​
  • Prepare samples for laboratory analysis and retain file samples for future reference.​

2. Quality Assessment:

  • Perform laboratory analyses to determine factors such as moisture content, foreign material presence, and grain condition.​
  • Monitor grain quality during receiving, storage, and loading operations by conducting visual inspections and temperature checks

3. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Accurately document inspection results, test findings, and any deviations from quality standards.​
  • Communicate quality issues to relevant departments and assist in implementing corrective actions.​

4. Equipment Maintenance:

  • Ensure that testing and sampling equipment are calibrated and maintained regularly to guarantee accurate measurements.​
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and front-end loaders, to transport grain within the facility.

5. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Conduct examinations in storage facilities and transportation containers to ensure cleanliness and suitability for grain storage.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards related to grain quality and safety.​

6. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with grain elevator operators, laboratory technicians, and management to coordinate quality control activities.​
  • Provide training to staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and safety protocols.​

Qualification & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Science.
  • Previous experience in grain quality assessment, inspection, or a related area is advantageous.​
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.​
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and conducting quality tests
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities.​
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards governing grain quality and safety.
