Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
As a Manager, Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering, you will lead a team of 6-9 engineers, working closely with Engineering, Platform Design, Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners, and other key business functions. In this role, you will collaborate with senior technical leaders to drive product development and manufacturing strategies. You will be at the intersection of design and production, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

As a manager, you will play a critical role in leading and developing a high-performing team responsible for bringing new products to market with a focus on manufacturability, reliability, and efficiency. You will provide technical leadership while driving cross-functional collaboration between engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
The New Product Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvements. This role requires strong expertise in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). The ideal candidate will lead engineering teams, collaborate with cross-functional groups, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Lead SMT process development, ensuring high-quality and efficient manufacturing.
- Implement DFM principles for SMT, PCB assembly, and system integration.
- Optimize PCB manufacturing, including advanced PCB structures and large form-factor BGA components.
- Oversee process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and version/revision control.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototyping to full-scale production.
- Utilize PLM systems such as Agile or Propel to track product lifecycles.
- Drive data center equipment lifecycle management to ensure manufacturability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, cost efficiency, and quality.
- Develop and implement best practices for SMT and PCB assembly.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, IPC guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams for efficient material flow.
- Optimize inventory management to minimize waste and improve production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specializing in SMT, PCB assembly, and DFM.
- 3+ years of experience leading a manufacturing team (Preferred).
- Expertise in PLM systems (Agile, Propel preferred) and ECO processes.
- Strong background in debugging, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Highly preferred:
- Experience with large form-factor BGA components and advanced PCB structures.
- Knowledge of data center equipment lifecycle management and supply chain coordination.
- Background in material management and production planning.
Compensation Information:
The new hire base pay for this role has a salary range of $165,000 to $193,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
