Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
You will work closely with Hardware Design Engineers, fellow Lab Technicians, and cross-functional partners to support hardware bring-up, validation, and testing efforts. This role also collaborates with external logistics and facilities teams to ensure smooth and compliant lab operations.
What You’ll Do
You will support day-to-day hardware lab operations by managing prototype hardware, maintaining lab infrastructure, and assisting engineering teams with system setup, debugging, and testing. Your work will help ensure the lab environment is safe, organized, and ready to support fast-paced hardware development.
We are seeking a hands-on, reliable, and detail-oriented Hardware Lab Technician to support daily operations within our Hardware Lab. This role is critical to the hardware development and validation process, ensuring that lab infrastructure, equipment, and prototype hardware are properly managed, maintained, and ready for engineering teams to bring up, test, and troubleshoot new systems.
- Manage and organize incoming prototype hardware from manufacturing, including check-in, labeling, and inventory tracking.
- Check hardware units in and out to engineering teams while maintaining accurate documentation and asset records.
- Support system-level and PCB-level debugging activities in a hardware lab environment.
- Assist engineering teams with hardware setup, configuration, and testing of new systems.
- Install and maintain lab infrastructure, including such as Rack mounting of hardware and AR switches, Installation of PDUs and routing of power cables and supporting basic network setup and configuration for diagnostics and EDVT testing
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and utility-related lab issues.
- Coordinate shipments, returns, and storage of hardware units with external logistics partners.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized lab and storage environment.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure Hardware Lab operations comply with operational and safety standards.
- Ensure lab infrastructure and equipment are ready and aligned with engineering schedules.
- Perform physical tasks as required, including lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Associate (2-year) college degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Hardware Lab Technician or in a comparable hardware lab role.
- Demonstrated ability to debug systems and PCBs in a hands-on hardware lab environment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking and electronics.
- Proven experience supporting engineering teams with equipment setup, configuration, and testing.
- Experience collaborating with teams to ensure lab operations meet operational and safety compliance standards.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs safely.
Compensation Information:
The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $54,000 to $75,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
