The Senior Principal Engineer will drive our Go to Market Technology landscape forward by building towards our next generation connected Marketing and Sales applications and interfaces to meet the rapid growth of these functions. We have a robust systems landscape that supports of unique business model and we are rapidly evolving to the next phase. The Senior Principal Engineer will be at the center of this evolution and will connect the lifecycle of data and interfaces that land in our top of funnel through back end processing.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $232,200 - $309,600

Zone B: $209,000 - $278,600

Zone C: $192,700 - $256,900

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

  1. Build and formulate strategy to evolve our current foundational CRM and Marketing platforms to the next generation suite of solutions in a hybrid systems architecture

  2. Partner with Business leadership and Technical Program Management team to understand and influence team direction and priorities

  3. Develop standards for a balanced first-party and third-party products in the front office portfolio of solutions

  4. Bring leading industry best practices and technical vision as we bring AI and ML driven solutions to scale our Sales and Marketing solutions

  5. Ability to connect big picture vision into executable strategy and roadmaps

  6. Drives accountability for Integrations and Code quality from the team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • 15+ years of experience working as in an Engineering organization and involved in building CRM and Marketing features.

  • 10+ years as CRM specialist, Salesforce certified Engineer / Architect or equivalent work experience.

  • 5+ years of experience acting as Technical Lead for a team of engineers, leading any form of Commerce or Front office systems and programs

  • Experience with CRM and Marketing Technologies such as Salesforce Cloud, Marketo, Gainsight, etc. , and application of AI for use cases will be a plus.
