Atlassian K.K. is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic narrative for the Japan market and contribute to projects that help grow and scale local marketing initiatives.

This position will collaborate closely with the Japan marketing and sales teams and report directly to the Head of Japan Marketing.

As the Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll work primarily with the Japan Marketing stakeholders to develop captivating narratives and content that foster engagement, raise brand awareness, and generate interest in the Japan market.


In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop user personas, value pillars, and narratives that are tailored to the specific characteristics of the local market.

  • Create compelling, engaging, and relevant content that resonates with the target audience such as website copy, blog posts, videos, email, case studies, and beyond.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor's content strategies to stay ahead of the curve.

  • Enable Marketing stakeholders to execute the marketing strategy and meet/exceed their KPIs.

  • Assess the ongoing effectiveness of the marketing programs that bolster our products and solutions, and provide the business with a report on necessary adjustments.

  • Act as the primary thought leader for our products and solutions in Japan, including speaking engagements and written works.

  • Create internal tools and external collateral, and educate internal sales stakeholders on how and when to utilize these resources.

  • Provide coaching and support to sales stakeholders to enhance their proficiency in utilizing narratives tailored to our market.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear and compelling messaging. You're extremely passionate; you care about what customers need and want to help them achieve their goals.

On your first day, we'll expect you have:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) required.

  • Native-level Japanese, fluency in English is necessary.

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, including a market-facing capacity such as delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis, and market research.

  • Experience in B2B SaaS marketing.

  • Must be adept at public speaking, at ease addressing large audiences, and possess strong writing skills.

  • You appreciate thinking outside the box, operate with a sense of urgency, and have a knack for finding unique solutions to problems.

  • You're comfortable working autonomously but also thrive in a team setting.

  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and across different teams.

  • Strategic thinking with a strong combination of GSD mentality - you’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed.

  • The ability to understand Atlassian strategies, markets, and products, and apply those to your marketing efforts.

And it's admired, but not required, if:

  • Experience driving enablement for field teams and channels.

  • 10+ years of experience either in a marketing role or a customer-facing position.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian products and solutions.
