Your future team

In this role as a FinOps Analyst, reporting into the Engineering Manager - FinOps, you’ll be an important part of our cost efficiency strategy across Atlassian. As a member of our Industry-leading Cloud FinOps team, part of our Engineering Excellence department, you’ll be using our cost data and your cloud engineering experience to build a culture of cost efficiency across Atlassian.

It’s your job to ensure our teams are educated and aware of their costs, the opportunities for efficiency and take direct action to improve rate of our cloud resources.


  • Contribute to rate optimisation activity by purchasing commitments with cloud vendors

  • Run training programs for Engineers to understand more about their costs

  • Build reports and dashboards to bring visibility to costs and opportunities.

  • Build data models to identify opportunities for optimisation of our cloud costs.

  • Build your cloud engineering knowledge to inform your decisions.

  • Work as part of a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary, high impact, industry recognised FinOps team.

  • Get exposure, impact and visibility across Atlassian engineering teams and senior execs.


Your background

  • 2+ years of experience as a technical business analyst or data analyst

  • A background in business financial operations.

  • Demonstrative SQL or Python skills.

It's great but not required if you have

  • A background in FinOps.

  • Technical experience as a cloud engineer

  • Technical or management experience with AWS

  • An interest or knowledge in data visualisation practices
