Ensure capitalization of fixed assets adhere to company policy including reviewing of invoices, purchase orders and requisitions for correct coding
Responsible for fixed assets identification, recording, valuation, accounting, and timely capitalization of capital projects
Responsible for recording and processing fixed assets disposal and liaising with the business on details relating to the disposal
Process monthly depreciation for all fixed assets
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual fixed asset reconciliation and roll forward reports
Preparation of monthly fixed asset tagging activities and liaising with assets custodians for tag numbers
Preparation of quarterly and annual fixed assets flux analysis
Preparation of quarterly impairment review
Preparation of annual asset verification activities
Conduct analysis related to fixed assets as requested by management
Assist with the preparation of financial statements disclosures related to fixed assets
Liaise with our external auditors and assist with the annual external audit, including timely attendance to audit requests such as preparation of supporting documentation and resolving questions from external auditors
Perform timely and accurate reporting and reconciliation for assigned areas in accordance with our monthly close schedule
Work closely with the Accounts Payable, Financial Planning & Analysis and Facilities team to attain accurate details regarding capital projects
Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting
Research and resolve accounting issues, and assist with application of IFRS and US GAAP accounting policies for assigned areas
Assist in quarterly/year end SOX compliance
Partner with the team to continuously improve system automation in an effort to help scale accounting operations
Assist in other miscellaneous fixed asset projects as needed
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
You have 5+ years of experience with a multinational and/or BPO/Shared Services Company (preferably in a public company environment subject to SOX) or;
You have 5+ years of experience with a Chartered Accounting Firm
You have your CPA or CA qualifications
Extensive knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel
You have experience with Oracle Fusion
You have experience in GL accounting including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and assisting with quarterly/yearly audits.
You are highly proactive, organized, have strong communications skills, and have a very strong work ethic
Strong attention to detail and ability to self-review
Desire to learn and further develop accounting skills
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, while maintaining accuracy
