Every digital company needs a “System of Work” to provide a unifying backbone that codifies what is important to focus on and how the company works as these trends grow. A system of work must enable diverse set of tools to be used together to create any unique workflow needed by a team or organization so they’re empowered to work in the tools they want. Building cross-product at Atlassian is difficult, and we don’t do it very often. Teamwork Graph aims to making building cross-product at Atlassian easy, including third-party products.

This team, part of Teamwork Graph, empowers Atlassian to build experiences on top of third-party data through building platform capabilities all products can leverage.


  • Input to the team’s roadmap and goals, setting clear priorities

  • Understands the operational health of the team’s existing services, identify areas that need focus and improvements

  • Established a collaborative relationship with peer managers in Teamwork Graph organisation and main stakeholders and partners across the company as such as CentralAI, Mercury, Ecosystem and Data Platoform.

  • Supports the growth and development of their direct reports' careers

  • Sets clear goals and expectations for each member of their team, provides consistent, actionable feedback & coaching to their direct reports


  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing a team of software engineers

  • Management skills are key, a people leader, managing the team and holding them accountable for delivery and manages employee retention and wellbeing

  • Passion for mentoring engineers and helping others achieve their career goals

  • Strong project and risk management skills - but not attached to following processes by the book

  • Strong technical background building and running platform or data intensive backend systems

  • Results orientated

  • Strong Technical experience to carry on a conversation, explaining technical concepts, asking good questions, shielding the team from stakeholders and dependencies whenever possible.

  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

  • Bachelor's degree with a preference for Computer Science degree
