In support of our mission, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Influencer & Advocacy to join our Marketing team. Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will cultivate and nurture our influencer community. You will have ownership of planning, execution of vision for the influencer marketing and complimentary organic and paid social strategies to expand brand awareness, engagement and sales. Our team is in growth mode, and we are looking for a hungry, passionate culture-creator who has a voracious appetite for travel and exploration. You possess an in-depth understanding of the influencer landscape and what strong influencer-first content embodies.

This role reports to the Director of Social & Community and will require a weekly in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

What you’ll do as the Senior Manager, Influencer & Advocacy:

  • Define the Away influencer and build relationships on behalf of the brand — from micro to mega talent, with a responsive eye to identifying rising stars and up and coming talent

  • Craft an influencer infrastructure that supports both organic and paid initiatives based on the program objective and builds our community intentionally and with speed with a more systematic approach

  • Architect an organic and paid influencer marketing strategy for Away, focused on brand-building tentpole moments, always-on evergreen strategy, key product launches and retail / experiential initiatives — thoughtfully considering organic engagement + reach as well as performance metrics in partnership with the growth team

  • Create influencer guidelines, toolkits and briefs in partnership with brand, social, and creative to support on-brand content development

  • Promote Away’s brand vision and ethos by building and maintaining meaningful relationships across our community

  • Manage existing external agency relationships — and source and onboard new resources — inclusive of influencer management, creative partners (organic/paid Meta, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), and social listening/analytics

  • Partner with organic social, growth, partnerships, retail, and PR to ideate and manage content distribution across channels

  • Partner with PR, brand, and experiential on in-person advocacy events and socially native activations for key marketing calendar moments

  • Define and manage influencer marketing KPIs — ensure we are meeting them and adjusting as needed. Push the rigor around understanding the impact that advocacy marketing can have within both the paid and organic space

Who you are:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience building, operating, and scaling an influencer marketing function

  • Experience in social media marketing, community management, and communications required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging talent, trends, and a pulse on what is relevant in our culture and societies today

  • A cultural innovator with a strong POV on the gaps and opportunity spaces within influencer and social. You are not afraid to push creative boundaries across the influencers we collaborate with, the physical and digital spaces in which we show up, and our overall ways of working

  • A deep knowledge of the social / digital landscape and the unique strategies across platforms — with expertise in organic, paid, and affiliate influencer marketing

  • Proven track record of negotiating contracts and deals with micro influencers to VIPs, with the assistance of an agency or legal team

  • Comfortable with community analytics, data management, and tracking tools

  • Strong written and oral communication; you are a persuasive presenter, a diplomatic negotiator, and are comfortable communicating on behalf of an established brand

  • A highly collaborative team player, who can also take personal initiative and drive projects forward autonomously

  • An elevated taste level — strong aesthetic judgment, can convey and execute a vision, while maintaining and elevating brand standards

  • A change agent — in a rapidly evolving landscape you are growing, failing fast and learning from what has worked and what needs to be approached different in the future

  • Passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)

Compensation Package:

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards program that also includes benefits, bonus, equity and various social and professional investment opportunities at Away. Pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at Away to fall healthily within the range based on these factors.

  • Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually

  • This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Annual Company Performance Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined on an annual basis at the discretion of the company

  • Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company
