We are hiring a Store Manager to lead our Seattle, University Village team.

Our Retail team creates a transformative experience for each and every customer that visits one of our seventeen stores. We build connections with our customers through product education, world-class-service standards, and operational excellence. We pride ourselves in owning the offline touch point for our brand, and use it as an opportunity to foster a stronger bond with loyal Away fans.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a widely celebrated brand that is looking to continue to innovate and iterate. We’re looking for candidates that are excited to provide best-in-class support to all of our customers from their arrival, and until their departure.

What you’ll do as the Store Manager

  • You’ll ensure your team is providing world class customer service to every person, every time through the Customer Journey and Leader on Duty program

  • You’ll communicate Away’s values and brand philosophy to customers and team members alike

  • You’ll develop your team by keeping an open mind, promoting a culture of learning and feedback, and communicating often and openly

  • You’ll develop, execute, and continuously improve all operational activities to ensure the store achieves financial expectations and exceeds customer expectations

  • You’ll work cross-functionally with CX and HQ partners to ensure we create exemplary retail experiences and special initiatives

  • You’ll provide peer mentorship for other leaders in the business

  • You’ll drive Brand Awareness through community activities

  • You’ll strategize and implement action plans to drive the business to success

  • You’ll use relevant business platforms to inform strategy and action plans (RetailNext, Deputy, Looker, etc.)

  • You’ll demonstrate comprehensive understanding of inventory movement in their specific market (adequately stock the store and create merchandising strategy)

  • You’ll conduct regular touch bases using the Retail Routines guidelines to connect with and develop all team members

  • You’ll lead weekly leadership meetings to align, share strategy, and develop long-term solutions for business opportunities

  • You’ll assess talent needs and proactively hire to maintain headcount, while actively retaining and developing talent

  • You’ll ensure success in all facets of the business by actively managing specialist program leaders

Who you are

  • You have a deep understanding of elevated customer experience

  • You have a minimum of 3 years in a managerial position, preferably at a customer-centric retailer or company

  • You have precise attention to detail, strong business acumen, and an entrepreneurial mindset

  • You’re passionate about people development and have a knack for motivation

  • You’re a team player that is comfortable providing feedback, innovating, and getting their hands dirty

  • You have experience working at a start-up or fast-growing company or retailer

  • You have experience building a team from the ground up

  • You’re creative and innovative; you love to build great new things that are fresh and unique while staying on brand

  • You’re agile, and motivated by a fast-paced and ever changing environment

  • You’re passionate about transforming travel for all (but that’s a given!)

  • You’re able to pull, push, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds throughout the duration of a work shift

  • You’re able to stand/be on feet for extended periods of time throughout the duration of a work shift

  • You’re able to bend, squat, twist, and reach as needed throughout the duration of a work shift

What We Offer

Our total rewards are inclusive of both compensation and benefits. What we offer within a salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including scope and qualifications for the role, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Away employees. Salary and benefit offerings are reviewed during phone screenings to ensure alignment.

  • Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually

  • This role is eligible to participate in Away’s Retail Incentive Bonus Plan, the terms of which are determined on an basis at the discretion of the company

  • Equity Grant: commensurate with level determined at the discretion of the company
