This person will lead the team that manages the end-to-end global revenue processes, ensuring all transactions are in compliance with GAAP and company policies, as well as closing the monthly books, driving operational system and process enhancements, and supporting our audits. You will work with your cross-functional business partners to help educate and guide them to best practices in deal structure as it relates to accounting considerations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring global revenue recognition is recorded in accordance with ASC606 and relevant company polices.
- Ownership of the monthly revenue close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, including driving the pull in of the overall revenue close timeline.
- Partnering with other business leaders (Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Order Management, Pricing & Packaging, Sales Operations) as the revenue SME to drive appropriate revenue recognition while supporting non-standard contract terms, new sales strategies, product launches, and other key initiatives.
- Identifying areas of opportunity to transform revenue and providing leadership and influence to drive towards best practice outcomes.
- Ensuring alignment between our FP&A partners as it relates to revenue forecasting.
- Researching and documenting revenue recognition memos/whitepapers where applicable, ownership of all revenue policies.
- Managing the billing and collections functions, ensuring that our invoices are issued accurately, and our collections are received timely.
- Calculating the AFDA & any associated collection or revenue reserves.
- Operating up, down, and across levels and departments while working with team members in a hands-on management capacity as required to deliver results.
- Facilitating effective communications, conveying information in a concise and well-organized manner tailored towards the level of your audience.
- Propensity for solutioning, uses logic and reasoning to solve complex problems by leveraging data to drive decisions.
- Supporting the external audit.
- Providing ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as needed.
- Mentoring and training your team, helping them to develop into next-generation leaders and subject matter experts.
Qualifications:
- Strong software and SaaS revenue recognition knowledge in the areas of ASC606, and related revenue recognition pronouncements under US GAAP
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Team player - excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Proven experience in management (direct and dotted-line), demonstrated ability to influence and team building
- A minimum of 10 years of combined management and leadership experience with expertise in accounting
- CPA or equivalent (inactive status accepted)
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
