About Basis
Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world.
We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale.
Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders.
"Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI
We're looking for a high-IQ generalist to work directly alongside the Head of Sales—and frequently alongside the CEO and founders. This is an executive support role with real analytical responsibility: you'll own the operating rhythm of the sales org, take a first pass on substantive work product, and get inside live deals. The right person is as comfortable running a complex calendar as they are drafting a competitive battlecard or prepping the CEO for a six-figure customer meeting.
This role is a fit for someone 1–6 years out of investment banking, consulting, or private equity who wants to apply that skillset inside a fast-moving sales org—with a clear path into Chief of Staff, GTM strategy, or RevOps leadership as Basis scales.
📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team.
What you'll be doing:
Own the operating rhythm: Track next steps across deals, recruiting, and internal projects. Keep people accountable, flag blockers, and make sure nothing slips. The Head of Sales shouldn't have to chase status updates—that's your job.
Produce work product that ships: Take a rough brief and return something polished—competitive battlecards, sales playbooks, QBR templates, RFP narratives, executive briefing docs, pilot process outlines. You work iteratively: outline → feedback → near-final → done.
Get inside active deals: Research target accounts, build pre-meeting briefings, and draft proposals in support of live deals. You'll prep the CEO and Head of Sales before high-stakes customer conversations—well enough that your prep changes how the meeting goes.
Own logistics end-to-end: Manage a high-volume calendar of internal and external meetings. Own travel, conference coordination, and event logistics.
Drive sales recruiting: Coordinate scheduling and candidate tracking across open sales roles. Conduct initial screens for lower-stakes positions and serve as the day-to-day liaison to external recruiters.
What you'll bring:
1–6 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a similarly rigorous analytical background
Strong PowerPoint and Excel—can build something polished from a rough brief
High agency—identifies what needs to happen and makes it happen
Low ego—no task too small, genuinely enjoys supporting someone else's success
Works exceptionally well with internal teams, especially the AE org—culture fit is critical
What we'd love to see:
Familiarity with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) and a track record of using them to produce better work faster
Prior exposure to B2B SaaS, fintech, or professional services
Experience working closely with a senior executive in a high-output environment
What success looks like in this role:
Operator: The Head of Sales is more effective because of you—better prepped, better organized, and not distracted by logistics or follow-up.
Strong first drafter: Your work product needs refinement, not reconstruction. Stakeholders trust your judgment and use what you produce.
Deal contributor: Leadership walks into key customer meetings sharper because of your prep. Over time, your work shows up in wins.
Culture fit: The AE team wants to loop you in. You earn trust quickly and make the org run better.
All-in: Driven to seize a massive opportunity, accelerate growth, and commit deeply to Basis's success.
Benefits at Basis
We offer a competitive and thoughtful benefits package designed to support your physical, mental, and financial well-being:
