About Basis
Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world.
We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale.
Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders.
"Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI
📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team.
We're looking for a Growth Engineer to own our go-to-market engine end-to-end—from the systems that power it to the experiments that scale it. This is a greenfield build: you'll design the architecture, run the playbooks, and own the stack from day one through day 1000. You'll work directly alongside the Head of Sales and the founding RevOps hire, operating cross-functionally to make sure the systems and motions we build drive revenue at every stage of growth.
What you’ll be doing:
Own the GTM stack end-to-end: Architecture, data model, automation, and ongoing evolution. If it touches pipeline, it's yours.
Build and run outbound infrastructure: Own the tooling, sequencing, and data pipelines that power outbound at scale—from list building and enrichment to delivery and conversion tracking.
Design the integration layer: Connect the CRM to the full revenue stack—marketing automation, financial systems, data warehouse, and support tooling. Own the data contracts, field mapping, and sync logic across all of it.
Run paid acquisition experiments: Stand up and optimize paid channels (search, social, content syndication) with a bias toward fast iteration and measurable pipeline impact.
Embed AI natively: Build AI-powered workflows for enrichment, scoring, pipeline visibility, and rep productivity. Evaluate and integrate tools like Clay, Gong, and Apollo into a coherent, non-redundant stack.
Partner with senior leadership: Translate business requirements from the founders and Head of Sales into architecture and growth decisions. Own the systems and experiments roadmap and bring a clear point of view on build vs. buy vs. run.
What you’ll bring:
4–8 years in roles such as Growth Engineer, Marketing Engineer, Revenue Operations, or Sales Engineer—with clear ownership of outcomes, not just execution
Hands-on GTM tooling experience: CRM configuration, automation, sequencing platforms, and the integrations that tie them together
Proven track record running outbound or paid acquisition motions—ideally at an early-stage company without a dedicated marketing team
Technical depth to read and write SQL, work with APIs, and build lightweight automations—enough to move fast without waiting on engineering
High agency, low ego—identifies what needs to happen, drives it cross-functionally, and makes it happen
What we’d love to see:
Experience building a GTM motion from scratch at a Series A–C company
Hands-on experience with AI or LLM tooling embedded in growth workflows
Prior exposure to B2B SaaS, fintech, or professional services revenue motions
Familiarity with PLG mechanics—free trials, activation funnels, expansion signals
What success looks like in this role:
Pipeline owner: You're generating qualified pipeline—through outbound, paid, or product signals—without a marketing team behind you.
Connected stack: Every system in the revenue cycle is integrated. Data flows from first touch to renewal without manual intervention.
Experiment velocity: You're running and measuring growth experiments weekly. You kill what doesn't work and double down on what does.
Scalable foundation: The architecture and playbooks you build on day one support 10x growth. They get extended, not rebuilt.
All-in: Driven to build something foundational and commit deeply to Basis's success.
