OUR MISSION
To become the car-changing destination of choice. By combining technology, media and deep automotive expertise, we've turned how people buy, sell, advertise and lease cars on its head.
What started as a simple reviews site is now one of the largest online car-changing destinations in Europe. Last year alone we grew over 50% with nearly £3bn worth of cars bought on site, while £1.8bn of cars were listed for sale through our Sell My Car service.
In 2024 we went big and acquired Autovia - creators of AutoExpress and Evo magazines - doubling our audience overnight. Together we now have one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world with almost 10m subscribers and over 1.1 billion annual views, while we sell 1.2 million print copies of our magazines and have an annual web content reach over 350million.
And we’re a long way from done!
BRAND CREATIVE @ CARWOW
We are the central creative studio for all brands within the Carwow Group. While you’ll spend about 80% of your time focused on the Carwow brand, you'll also get your hands on Evo, Auto Express, and more. We are a tight-knit core team, augmented by talented freelancers, but you’ll also be part of an evolving 30+ person wider creative community across the business.
Note: This is an in-house brand marketing design role, distinct from UI/UX Product Design and Content.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Own the visuals: Deliver high-quality, willing to dive into commercial cross-functional conversations as you are doing deep design work, campaigns, social, print, CRM, paid media, and event collateral.
Be comfortable with ambiguity: Take open briefs and problem solve the solutions. You’ll figure out the "how" and bring ideas to life without needing heavy oversight.
Partner up: Work closely with our Creative Strategist and copywriters to develop insight-led campaign directions. You'll bounce ideas around, debate concepts, and execute fast.
Think commercially: Interpret brand guidelines pragmatically. You understand that we are a fast-moving scale-up, and you know how to balance stunning craft with commercial goals and tight deadlines.
Lead by example: Provide constructive, objective feedback to our freelancers, ensuring their work aligns with our brand expectations and systems.
Build the system: Produce assets that scale; layouts, toolkits, templates, and visual systems that support efficiency across the group.
Champion creativity: Contribute actively to Carwow’s Creative Community, sharing inspiration, collaborating across teams and helping strengthen our creative culture.
Be curious: Proactively explore AI solutions in the creative workflow without compromising on execution.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A strong portfolio showcasing both concept development and crafted design across digital and print, preferably including a 360 campaign from ATL to tactical performance assets.
Proficiency in Figma, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop, with consistent attention to detail. Knowledge of AfterEffects and Premiere Pro is an advantage.
Ability to create coherent campaign executions, from early concepts to multi-channel rollouts.
Experience adapting design to fit channel needs, especially across social and performance environments.
Comfortable collaborating creatively with copywriters and stakeholders, and able to offer clear, thoughtful feedback.
Self-sufficient, organised and proactive, confident managing multiple projects without heavy oversight.
Strong understanding of visual trends, social formats and the role of motion in brand expression.
A natural collaborator who enjoys working across disciplines and connecting with other creatives.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Carwow is evolving fast, and as the sole permanent Senior Designer in our core Brand Creative team, you will be the visual anchor for our next wave of growth. You won't be confined to a single aesthetic or predictable templates; you’ll have the autonomy to shape how a massive portfolio of brands shows up in the real world and online. From high-profile B2B sponsorships to national billboards and digital campaigns, your work will directly drive our commercial goals. You’ll be translating ambiguous briefs into impactful, tangible design—proving that great creative and commercial success go hand-in-hand.
