The Role
Join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in supporting our international subsidiaries! As an International Accountant, you'll be at the forefront of critical financial decision-making, utilizing your expertise to track, collect, and manage financial data with precision and insight.
What you'll do
- Ensure all accounting processes comply with Romanian statutory regulations, including documentation standards, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Prepare general bookkeeping, invoice processing, bank reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate intercompany reconciliation by matching transactions between related entities, resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitor and apply the correct procedures for travel orders (ordin de deplasare), ensuring proper documentation, expense justification, and tax treatment in line with Romanian laws.
- Maintain accurate records for fixed assets, amortization schedules, and inventory management, ensuring correct accounting treatment.
- Manage and archive all financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, inventory findings.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all accounting activities, ensuring all files are organized and stored securely.
- Execute and manage payments accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all approvals are obtained and documented according to company policy and Romanian legal standards.
- Perform balance confirmations with vendors to verify the accuracy of outstanding balances and resolve any discrepancies.
- Calculate and check travel cost and reimbursements.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and other mandatory reports to ANAF.
- Prepare and submit financial reports to Romanian authorities, such as the Trade Register and the Romanian National Bank, when required.
What you bring to the table
- A university degree in business administration with focus on accounting or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in the areas of accounting, auditing, or controlling.
- Familiar with accounts receivable as well as accounts payable.
- Ideally, you have some experience with Business Central Navision.
- Very detail oriented and have good reasoning skills.
- Very good communication skills in English.
- Location: Bucharest or close to Bucharest.
