The Role

Lucanet is looking for a driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to support pipeline generation across the UK. This role sits at the very front of our go-to-market motion and is focused exclusively on outbound prospecting and opportunity creation.

As a BDR, your primary responsibility is to identify, engage, and qualify new prospects within our target customer segments. You will work closely with Account Executives to generate high-quality, sales-ready opportunities, acting as the first point of contact for prospective customers.

This role is ideal for someone who is motivated by outbound activity, comfortable initiating conversations with senior stakeholders, and keen to develop a deep understanding of enterprise finance and compliance challenges.

What you’ll do

  • Proactively identify and engage new prospects through outbound channels, including phone, email, and social selling.
  • Research target accounts and stakeholders to personalise outreach and drive meaningful first conversations.
  • Qualify prospects against agreed criteria (e.g. ICP fit, use case, buying intent) before passing opportunities to the sales team.
  • Book meetings and create sales-qualified opportunities for Account Executives and Account Managers.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to align on target accounts, messaging, and campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date activity, lead, and opportunity data in the CRM.
  • Continuously refine outreach messaging based on feedback, performance data, and market insights.

What you bring to the table

  • Initial experience in business development, outbound sales, or a fast-paced commercial environment, or a strong desire to build a career in B2B sales.
  • Confidence initiating conversations with new contacts, including senior finance and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and questioning skills, with the ability to uncover pain points and assess relevance.
  • A target-driven and resilient mindset, comfortable with high outbound activity volumes.
  • High level of organisation and discipline in managing follow-ups and pipeline hygiene.
  • Interest in SaaS, enterprise software, and learning complex business domains.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus!
