Principal Technical Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise AI Go-to-Market
CData Software
About CData Software, Inc.
CData is the data layer between AI and ROI—delivering the connectivity, context, and control that make enterprise AI more accurate. One platform for live access and data replication across 350+ sources, semantic intelligence that ensures context-aware responses, and built-in governance for every AI-to-data interaction. Powering AI and analytics workloads for Anthropic, Databricks, Microsoft, Google, Palantir, and more than 10,000 customers worldwide.
Behind that impact is a global team of passionate problem-solvers, engineers, and innovators who are redefining what’s possible in data connectivity.
Headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, CData has over 500 team members, with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. We take pride not just in what we build, but in how we build it: together, with curiosity, creativity, and a shared drive to push boundaries.
About the role
Enterprise IT is caught between two forces: the business demanding AI faster than ever, and IT accountable for the governance, security, and complex system landscapes they’re responsible for. The gap between what AI promises and what it can safely access is where most deployments stall—and where CData wins.
We’re looking for a Principal Technical PMM to own enterprise GTM for Connect AI, the first managed MCP platform for enterprise. This role is built for someone who understands how Enterprise IT buys—multi-stakeholder dynamics, security scrutiny, long procurement cycles—and can build positioning, content, and enablement that earns credibility with buyers who test platforms before they talk to sales.
What you'll do
GTM Strategy & Positioning
- Own Connect AI positioning for Enterprise IT buyers—Directors of Architecture, CIOs, VP IT Infrastructure, and security and compliance stakeholders
- Define CData’s answer to the core Enterprise IT dilemma: enabling AI without compromising governance, security, or existing system investments
- Build competitive strategy against iPaaS, Unified APIs, and native MCP connectors that holds up under technical scrutiny from hands-on evaluators
- Lead market development for managed MCP as an enterprise infrastructure category; own Connect AI growth performance across product-led and sales-led motions
Enterprise Content & Messaging
- Create technical content built for enterprise IT evaluation cycles: security reference architectures, compliance mapping (SOC 2, GDPR), IT governance playbooks, ERP/CRM integration guides (SAP, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow), and deployment playbooks for hybrid environments
- Translate CData’s three pillars—Connectivity (350+ sources), Context (semantic intelligence), and Control (passthrough security with audit trails)—into value narratives that resonate with IT leadership; lead ongoing buyer research to continuously sharpen messaging
- Own the translation of enterprise positioning into website copy, campaign messaging, and demand generation assets—ensuring the technical credibility of content carries through every channel where enterprise IT buyers encounter CData
- Equip Sales and CS with the use case articulation, objection handling, and competitive positioning they need to win in enterprise evaluation cycles
Product Partnership & Metrics
- Translate enterprise buyer feedback into roadmap recommendations around governance, security controls, identity integration, and deployment flexibility
- Partner with Product on launch strategy for new capabilities and AI platform integrations; represent the enterprise buyer perspective in cross-functional planning
- Track pipeline influence, win/loss patterns, and Connect AI adoption across enterprise accounts; mentor other PMMs on enterprise buyer strategy
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of product marketing in data infrastructure, integration platforms, or enterprise software—with a clear track record marketing to Enterprise IT buyers (architects, IT leadership, security and compliance stakeholders)
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise buying processes involving technical evaluators, security teams, procurement, and executive sponsors
- Deep familiarity with enterprise system landscapes: ERP (SAP, Oracle), CRM (Salesforce), financial systems (Workday, NetSuite), and the IT governance frameworks that surround them
- Ability to create technically credible content—architecture guides, security whitepapers, governance frameworks, and implementation playbooks that IT evaluators actually use
- Familiarity with enterprise AI/ML infrastructure: LLMs, RAG architectures, agentic AI, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to adjust register from hands-on architect to C-suite executive
Preferred:
- Background in data integration technologies—iPaaS, ETL/ELT, API platforms, or data warehousing (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS)
- Experience marketing in regulated industries: financial services, healthcare, government, or manufacturing
- Cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence roadmap and sales strategy without direct authority
Why This Role
- The enterprise IT moment is now: 71% of AI teams spend more than a quarter of implementation time on data integration. CData is the answer—and this role owns that narrative.
- Buyers who read the docs: Enterprise IT evaluators test platforms personally and respond to technical credibility over marketing polish. If you’ve been frustrated marketing to personas who don’t exist, this is different.
- Category-defining scope: Connect AI is the first managed MCP platform for enterprise. You’re helping define how enterprises think about governed AI data connectivity.
- Startup energy, scaled resources: category-defining opportunity with the infrastructure and customer base of a profitable, global company.
Occasional travel for customer meetings, industry events, and team collaboration (estimated 10–15%).
