Role Overview:

The Business Development team is the go-to-market engine of the company and sits at the intersection of Growth, Mission (field operations) and Capture. CHAOS is hyper-scaling at rapid velocity and needs a strong Business Development Operations Manager to keep everything moving. You own execution mechanics and enforce process discipline. This role has a direct impact on our ability to deliver to customers – think, “Are we efficient, on-time and well-resourced?”

Responsibilities:

  • Process Design, Enhancement & Scale
    • Translate strategy into operational reality (and flagging when reality doesn’t match strategy).
    • Build repeatable, scalable workflows for prospecting, partnerships, onboarding, training, resourcing, approvals, and handoffs.
    • Encourage process improvement; identify bottlenecks in deployment or sales workflows and implement effective solutions.
    • Standardize best practice playbooks, templates, and timelines while still leaving room for customization and flexibility.
  • Data Collection, Tracking & Reporting
    • Turn activity into insight - defines what to track, how often and where.
    • Ensure data integrity in CRM and other project management tools like Jira and Foundry.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Coordinate with Mission, Growth, Product, Engineering, Revenue Operations, and Finance to keep every stakeholder aligned.
    • Establish various lines of communication and touchpoints; determine which should be used when.
  • Physical Location
    • Work full-time onsite in our Washington D.C. office.
    • Regular travel required for product testing, customer demonstrations and cross-functional collaboration with teams at our Los Angeles HQ (roughly 10%).

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7–10+ years in BD, Sales, Growth, Operations and/or Project Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Communications or Political Science.
  • Experience building trust with technical and operational stakeholders, translating customer needs, and driving aligned internal execution.
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail; strong strategic judgment and risk assessment.
  • Professionalism and a service-first mindset.
  • Ability to work across multiple systems, simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and process-minded.
  • Self-starter who is goal-oriented and highly motivated.
  • Leadership in fast-moving, matrixed, and sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Strong ability to context switch, quickly.
  • Familiarity with the defense industry, specifically the acquisition process.

Salary range: $130,000 - $165,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
