About the Role:
We are looking for an engineering mindset which brings fresh ideas from various areas, including large-scale platform design, analytics, data structures, security practices, large-scale data retrieval and processing environments. As a Backend Engineer (VOIP), you will be responsible for customer support for various services of Clevertap SignedCall. The scope of this role includes debugging Nodejs and Java based services, applying quick fixes, escalating cases for patch development and deployment along. The issues may be related to reporting, stats or application functionality.
What will you do:
- Understand the functional and nonfunctional requirements, specifications and drive the story development related to IVR development and VOIP stack by working with the team members
- Understand the server side processes and support team with timely analysis and debugging of operational issues of multiple nodejs and Java services.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (Product, Design, Data Science, SDK, Frontend developers, QA) on planning and execution to achieve delivery/output and seamless integrations with interdependent systems
- Participate in technical discussions with Customer’s technical teams to help them test, deploy and debug applications (Mobile & Web) with CleverTap’s SignedCall initiative.
What are we looking for?
Must have:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science from premier institute with top grades or equivalent practical experience
- 6 - 10 years of experience in working with Nodejs, Java, MongoDB and Postgres
- 3-5 years of experience interacting with customers for issue identification, resolution and requirement understanding.
- Ability to assist the Product team with technical aspects of solution building.
- Experience on IP networking concepts and L2/L3 routing including Subnets, VLAN
- Experience in working with a major cloud platform like AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure
- Working knowledge of DevOps tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, Git
- Proficiency in working in Linux environment and follow agile SDLC process
- Endless curiosity and ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Has prior excellent and demonstrable engineering track record
- Excellent troubleshooting skills - memory leaks, GC tuning
- Customer focussed and can do attitude
Good to Have:
- Server-side voip infrastructure components like Asterisk/Freeswitch, Kamailio/Opensips, including understanding of stack internals and on VOIP domain technologies including TLS, SIP, SDP, RTP, RTCP, SRTP
- Understanding Asterisk software PBX, Dialplan and PJSIP module configuration.
- NAT Traversal (ICE/STUN)
