Cloudera is seeking a dynamic Technical Lead to join the SDX (Shared Data Experience) Platform Infrastructure team to define, drive, develop, and maintain the SDX Platform that runs SDX Services in our Public Cloud environment. Our technical leads are always curious, always learning about more data, more use cases, and more new approaches for challenges of large-scale data to enable new opportunities for enterprise customers to trust and leverage their data.

We are looking for a seasoned technical leader with expertise in cloud development both individually and as part of a team. We’re extending our platform and supporting infrastructure hosting services that support Cloudera’s SDX metadata management. Our goal is to ensure a consistent data experience across all usage patterns, from data warehousing to machine learning and data streaming.

About SDX:

Data usage in enterprises today is growing both in size and complexity. There is a need for consistent data experience across the different usage patterns of data— be it data warehousing, machine learning, etc. -- to provide consistent compliance, governance, and security services across all environment users. About the team:

You'll collaborate with a dynamic team responsible for designing, building, and delivering features across multiple products within the SDX platform. This role demands a startup mindset to incrementally build features and pivot based on customer and client feedback. Collaboration with globally distributed teams, including engineers, product managers, and external partners, is crucial. We're seeking individuals who are eager to learn new services, tools, and technologies while being self-motivated, innovative, and proactive.

As a Technical Lead, you will:

• Define and develop cross-product features to enable a shared data experience for enterprise customers for various cloud providers - AWS/Azure/GCP
• Design, code, and implement elegant, scalable, enterprise-quality software for single-person and team projects, including projects that cross organization boundaries
• Collaborate with platform and UI engineers, quality engineers, UX designers, Product Management, Field, Engineers, and external partners to deliver features for customers
• Work with the Cloudera Support team to resolve customer issues and drive supportability code and process improvements for the SDX platform
• Lead the team technically and own project delivery across the team
• Collaborate with Cloudera’s architects to align projects across multiple stakeholders
• Mentor members of the team at all levels of experience

We’re excited about you if you have:

• Relevant studies / BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of software engineering experience developing products and/or platforms for internal or external customers
• Experience defining, guiding and delivering multi-person projects from idea through implementation with developers of
• Experience with back-end platform and server technologies using Java
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with REST API, Microservices development, and technologies
• Development experience in Linux environments.
• Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Jira)
• Familiarity with additional development tools such as JUnit, Maven & Jenkins.
• Self-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and collaboration skills
• Ability to understand and address complex problems and systems
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

You may also have:

• Experience (or demonstrated interest) in distributed computing or high-availability systems
• Big Data / NoSQL / distributed database experience
• Previous open source contribution
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience building scalable, robust, and secure Enterprise applications
