Team Description:

Cloudera is looking for an accomplished Cloud Networking Engineer (SRE-NE) to play a key role in advancing Cloudera’s product offerings in the cloud. In this role, you will be part of our vision of delivering big data as SAAS for hybrid infrastructure with intersection of white-hot areas in today’s technical landscape: Cloud, SAAS and Big Data

Over the past few years, Cloudera has experienced tremendous growth, making us the leading contributor to the Big Data ecosystem and a leading provider of enterprise solutions for Big Data. The purpose of this team is to accelerate Cloudera’s next stage of growth by enabling our customers to unlock the full potential of the cloud. As a member of this team you will utilize your expertise in designing and building resilient cutting-edge network architectures for interconnecting on-prem and multi-cloud. Alongside, you will be immersed in many exciting, innovative technologies and projects that will be critical to our customers’ data management needs in the cloud.

As the Staff Cloud Networking Engineer, you will:

• Design, implement, enhance, monitor, document and manage IP networking and DNS aspects of Cloudera’s multi-regional multi-cloud networks, and their interconnections.

• Automate routine tasks for deployment, configuration and monitoring of hybrid network architectures.

• Collaborate with our internal and external Customers for scalable and secure networking over cloud.

• Create and maintain complete and accurate documentation for the purpose of operational audits including security and compliance.

• Continuously review and enhance processes and operating procedures needed to maintain the most cost-effective, secure and scalable enterprise-grade network infrastructure.

• Collaborate with 24/7 cross-geography team and participate in on-call rotation.

• Perform a gap analysis of the current offering and influence the product roadmap from a networking perspective.

• Act as a subject-matter expert for the enterprise Cloud Network infrastructure.
  

We’re excited about you if you have:

• 8+ years of experience working in an IT industry & help desk environment.

• 2+ years of experience building and supporting cloud networks, enterprise & data center IP networks.

• 3+ years of experience building and supporting networks at an application service provider or network service provider.

• Experience supporting DNS configurations.

• Familiarity with ITSM principles and frameworks, such as ITIL, ISO20000

• Strong Linux and systems experience.

• Expert in IPv4 and IPv6 routing concepts.

• Expert in cloud networking functionality with at least one of Amazon Web Services(AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform(GCP).

• Experience in automation with terraform or ansible.

• Proficient at scripting with two languages, ideally.

• Working experience with networking to support Kubernetes clusters.

• Expert knowledge of TCP, NAT, load balancing, application delivery, static and dynamic routing.

• Deeper understanding of cloud network technologies, network virtualization, VPN, overlay architectures and firewalls.

• Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and capacity planning.

• Good understanding of cloud architectural patterns.

• Network Troubleshooting experience and working with routers, switches, provisioning, firewalls and security.

• Familiarity with zero trust network design principles.

You may also have:

• Experience deploying and supporting HTTP proxies, web application firewalls, next-generation firewalls, and other network security technologies.

• Strong understanding of IPSec, TLS, SSH protocols

• Strong understanding of Cloud IAM configuration and policies
