About the Role:
Couchbase is hiring a Manager of Solutions Engineering to lead our Central US Solutions Engineering team. The SE Manager will oversee a team of Solutions Engineers who are passionate about helping customers succeed with Couchbase’s innovative data platform. This role is critical to expanding Couchbase’s reach in the Central US region by supporting customers in their digital transformation journeys and driving adoption of Couchbase Capella.
The ideal candidate is a motivated and inspiring leader with a technical background in databases and cloud-native solutions. You’ll work closely with account teams to shape strategy, manage pre-sales engagements, and ensure the SE team is delivering exceptional value to customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Solutions Engineers across the Central US, ensuring they have the tools, training, and support needed to excel.
- Collaborate with regional sales leadership to define go-to-market strategies and ensure alignment on customer success objectives.
- Guide the SE team in managing technical discovery, solution demonstrations, and PoC execution.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for complex customer engagements, providing hands-on support as needed.
- Foster a culture of learning and innovation within the SE team, ensuring they stay ahead of industry trends and Couchbase product advancements.
- Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and feedback with the broader Couchbase SE organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing technical role.
- 2+ years of experience managing technical teams.
- Deep knowledge of modern database architectures, including NoSQL and distributed systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise application development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and business stakeholders.
