About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled employment lawyer to join our growing Legal Department as Sr. Counsel, Employment. In this role, you will provide legal advice to CrowdStrike’s business leaders and partner with the Human Resources team on international employment matters across the APJ region. The role involves all aspects of the employer-employee relationship and you will provide advice on recruiting, leaves of absence, performance management, dismissal, internal investigations, redundancies, health and safety and much more. You will help resolve pre-litigation disputes and work with outside counsel to manage litigation around the world. You will collaborate with stakeholders to manage interesting and complex projects from inception to implementation. The remote position, based in Sydney, Australia, requires occasional visits (approximately 2-3 times per month) to our Sydney office. The position will report to the Senior Lead Counsel, Employment in the U.S.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as CrowdStrike’s first APJ based in-house Employment lawyer supporting the APJ region, as well as provide additional support for other regions as necessary.

  • Be a trusted adviser and contact for our HR team on a wide-range of employee relations matters as and when they arise.

  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, and corporate policies.

  • Advise on benefits, leaves of absence, and HR compliance issues.

  • Manage litigation for employment law disputes.

  • Assist in CrowdStrike’s global expansion initiative by preparing the key employment documents and satisfying local legal requirements.

  • Draft, review, and revise variable compensation plans.

  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to conduct training on employment related issues.

  • Support the Sales, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, and Equity teams with various projects.

  • Stay up-to-date on developments to laws throughout the region.

What You’ll Need:

  • Expertise in employment law in Australia and New Zealand, and across the APJ region.

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active practicing license as a solicitor in Australia.

  • At least 8 years of Post Qualification Experience as an employment attorney with at least 2 years in house counsel experience at a multinational company.

  • Proven track record of completing projects independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to understand and evaluate risk and provide practical and commercial guidance for a fast-paced global company.

  • Self-starter with ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Willing to do occasional travel throughout APJ as needed.
