About the Role:
The CrowdStrike Information Technology team is looking for a Senior/Staff Systems Engineer (monitoring) with an ownership mentality and a clear customer focus to join our team. This position will be focused on our internal monitoring, operating as the subject matter expert and solutions architect for the platform.
To succeed in this role, you must be a self-starter who functions well as part of a distributed IT team. You must be comfortable and confident in assessing when to ask for guidance and when to make autonomous decisions, all of which must place the success and integrity of the company and its employees as the primary goal.
In this role you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, scaling, maintaining and securing all facets of the CrowdStrike monitoring platforms.
What You’ll Do:
Define and drive the strategic vision for monitoring across the organization.
Lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art monitoring solutions.
Act as a thought leader, staying ahead of industry trends and integrating cutting-edge monitoring technologies.
Mentor and develop senior monitoring engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
Partner with senior leadership to align monitoring initiatives with business objectives.
Lead critical incident response and drive continuous improvement efforts.
Establish and enforce best practices for synthetic monitoring and observability.
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for monitoring tools.
Evaluate and integrate new monitoring technologies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in monitoring processes.
Work closely with DevOps and SRE teams to enhance monitoring capabilities within CI/CD pipelines.
Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) templates for automated monitoring deployments.
Develop and maintain custom scripts for automation and monitoring tasks.
Utilize APIs for integration and automation of monitoring solutions.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in Monitoring and observability, with a proven track record in leading large-scale, complex projects.
Expert-level knowledge of leading Industry solutions in Monitoring and Observability.
Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform).
Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices.
Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and vision-setting abilities.
Strong collaboration skills with experience working with executive teams.
Outstanding communication and influence skills.
Demonstrated curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
Proven track record of successfully completed projects related to Monitoring and Observability.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Knowledge of APIs and experience integrating with third-party services.
