Role
The Legal Operations Intern will support the Legal Department by assisting with operational and administrative tasks, as well as process improvement and technology initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Legal Department. This role provides hands on exposure to legal operations, project management, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration, while offering a practical learning experience in a corporate legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration of the matter management and e-billing system, including law firm set up, matter creation, and invoice entry.
- Respond to inquiries from outside counsel regarding billing and timekeepers.
- Provide support for vendor management activities, including vendor setup, invoice processing, and check request coordination to ensure timely payments.
- Organize and maintain departmental SharePoint document libraries to keep content current and easy for users to find.
- Review and process document correction requests for documents stored in the corporate document management system.
- Redact and validate scanned images of new agreements and amendments.
- Provide support for the physical records destruction project to ensure compliance with Crown Castle’s Document Retention and Destruction policies.
- Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of Document Management Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for document upload workflows.

Education/Certifications
- Currently enrolled as a student in a degree program from an accredited higher education institution
- Applicants must have completed at least 60 credit hours by the first day of the internship
- Preferred field(s) of study: business, legal studies, technology, operations, or related field.
Skills and Experience
- General basic proficiency in applications of MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Willingness to learn and develop general basic proficiency in programs used by Legal Operations (Passport, JD Edwards, Adobe Acrobat, AppXtender, CCISites, DocuSign, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from June 1 to August 6, 2026
- Authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, regular basis without additional sponsorship.
Reports to: Document Management Supervisor
Work Plans: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. On Mondays and Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home. Beginning July 1, 2026, our hybrid work model will be adjusted to 4 days in the office on Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, teammates on the hybrid schedule will have the option to work from the office or home.
Compensation Information: The hourly pay offered for this position is $19.50 per hour.
