Position Title: Manager, Maintenance Operations (M2)

Role

The Manager, Maintenance Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring the continuous upkeep, structural integrity, and operational readiness of all Tower, Rooftop, and essential infrastructure assets within a designated geographic area. This role is maintenance-focused, emphasizing preventative programs, rapid response to service issues, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The manager will lead a team of Maintenance Process Managers and Operation Coordinators to execute maintenance strategies, resolve site issues, and ensure optimal performance of all physical assets. Furthermore, you will facilitate the development of team skills and competencies. Responsible for the effective management of the team to ensure the swift resolution of site and network trouble tickets and the routine maintenance of structures and networks. Ensure compliance with all Service Level Agreements. Must also be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external customers. In addition, the manager will oversee maintenance-related financial planning, including budget development, cost control, and forecasting, to ensure efficient allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategies and financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of preventative and reactive maintenance for tower structures, rooftops sites, HVAC systems, generators, shelters, and related infrastructure.
  • Ensure structural integrity and regulatory compliance for all assigned assets.
  • Manage the efficient repair, maintenance, and operation of all tower structures and networks in the assigned area. Ensure proper visibility and escalation of all major service interruptions or hazards which present safety or structural integrity issues.
  • Manage Vendor resources for NOTAMs repair & maintenance for Field Operations
  • Administer and enforce maintenance-related compliance with FCC mandates, including NOTAMs and safety protocols.
  • Direct the repair and restoration of damaged or degraded assets, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum asset longevity.
  • Manage and optimize maintenance schedules, work orders, and vendor dispatch to ensure timely resolution of issues and efficient resource utilization.
  • Manage generator and HVAC preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage vegetation maintenance contracts and execution of scope of work requirements.
  • Performance management of a large team including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, terminations, rewards determination, training/development and scheduling.
  • Assist Field Operations timely resolution of incidents & escalated incident tickets, including the dispatch of technicians to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with landowners, customers, cross-functional partners and National Support teams.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting quarterly budgets for each teammate, with a focus on cost control and vendor management to ensure tower upgrades, maintenance and repair, utility and interconnect objectives are met. Provide annual and quarterly budget forecasts and guidance.
  • Analyze operational reporting, system tools and activities to ensure key objectives and goals are achieved.
  • Prepare, review and provide weekly updates for all activities at assigned tower sites to team and provide status reports to Director, Maintenance Operations, as requested.
  • Support Field Operations with disaster recovery and emergency response efforts, ensuring rapid mobilization and repair of affected assets.
  • Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all maintenance activities are preformed in accordance with Crown Castle’s safety standards.
  • Develop team goals and objectives to ensure company and team success.
  • Manage or provide oversight on various revenue generating projects which may include Fiber projects.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional internal teams—including Regulatory, Legal, Sales, Client Services, Real Estate, Engineering, and Quality Assurance—to ensure that safety, construction quality, and financial performance standards are consistently prioritized and upheld across all operations.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in relevant Operations Management
  • Experience in carrier Operations, RF, construction, civil engineering, and/or property management
  • Previous experience leading and managing both remote and office-based workforces
  • Experience in Project Management and Leading initiatives and committees

Organizational Relationship

Reports to: Director, Maintenance Operations

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): Maintenance Process Managers and Operation Coordinators

Working Conditions: This role falls into our current hybrid work model, which is 2-days remote and 3-days in the office. To optimize collaboration, relationship building, and key stakeholder engagement, starting 07/06/2026 we will move to a 4:1 hybrid model which is in office Monday-Thursday with the option for remote work on Fridays.

  • May travel between office and field environments, including tower sites and construction zones.
  • Exposure to seasonal weather, heavy equipment, and physical tasks such as climbing and lifting.
  • Availability for after-hours emergencies and urgent maintenance issues.

Compensation
The salary range offered for this position is $113700 - $156300 annually. A candidate's offer is determined by various factors including but not limited to, depth of experience, role-related knowledge and skills, relevant education or training, internal alignment, and work location. Depending on the position offered, the compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual cash bonus or commissions, and equity incentives.
