Compensation includes a base salary of $87,200.00 - $130,800.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. The Sr. Analyst, Data Governance & Management will support Cox Enterprise's Data Governance Program under our Data Governance Office (DGO). This role will drive the execution of key Data Management capabilities at Cox Enterprises. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will implement, manage and monitor the DGO related privacy Initiatives, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA, and strategic business initiatives. It will also support the creation and propagation of policies, processes, and standards to ensure coordination, standardization, and alignment of business unit activities with DGO objectives.
The Sr. Analyst, Data Governance & Management will actively manage the implementation, administration, utilization, and adoption of Data Governance processes and software supporting data discovery, data inventory, data cataloging, data mapping, data lineage, data lifecycle management, data quality, data archival, data disposal & minimization, and data classification. The role will be part of a matrixed team responsible for promoting Data Governance across the enterprise, enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations.
The Sr. Analyst, Data Governance & Management will partner with various legal, business and technology stakeholders to influence and drive the adoption of Enterprise Data Management processes and control frameworks; and support testing activities related to the overall enterprise data governance strategy.
Job Responsibilities
• Proven implementation success within multiple Data Management domains, including metadata management, master/reference data management, data quality, data governance, and data integration.
• Track record of successfully implementing capabilities to enable data security and privacy, including data discovery, data inventory, classification, labeling, archiving, data retention, and data disposal, including understanding data tokenization, encryption, and tagging/labeling.
• Prior management experience with data security and privacy initiatives partnering with enterprise information security, legal & compliance teams, and other federated governance teams.
• As a member of the Data Governance Office, manage the day-to-day activities of the Data Governance Program, including facilitation, meeting planning, project communications, and project coordination.
• Create, implement, manage and monitor processes and procedures to support data standards and control frameworks
• Develop a deep understanding of Cox Enterprise applications and their interdependencies with source applications, customers, and business processes within the areas they support.
• Manage the Governance and Data Management work while partnering within an Agile development team and foster a team mindset with all delivery team members to work towards shared goals and objectives. Understands Agile software methodology and tools.
• Own the relationship between Application Development, Engineering, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Product Owners, Release Management, and Operations to ensure team coordination, synergy, and successful project delivery.
• Ability to work within an Agile System of Delivery
Qualifications Min
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or data related discipline.
• 4+ years of data stewardship or information technology experience.
• Experience in managing Data Management and Data Governance frameworks, operating models, policies, processes, and standards.
• Experience across multiple data management domains, including data discovery, data inventory, data cataloging, data mapping, data lineage, data lifecycle management, data quality, data archival, data disposal & minimization, and data classification.
• Experience working with different stakeholder groups (Data Management teams, Data Sponsors, Data Owners, Data Stewards, Legal, etc.).
• Experience using data cataloging tools, such as Collibra, Informatica, or complementary tools for governance.
• Understanding of source and target data systems, database management systems, business intelligence, and messaging concepts
• Experience implementing capabilities to enable data security and privacy, including data discovery, inventory, classification, labeling, and lineage
• Experience with data security and privacy, including a deep understanding of concepts such as data tokenization, encryption, tagging/labeling, consent, opt-in / opt-out
• Experience with Data Governance and Privacy technology such as OneTrust, Varonis, and M365
• Understanding of laws and regulations that impact our business, including GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other emerging regulations
• Strong project management and coordination skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple projects.
• Demonstrated partnering skills, plus excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and non-technical partners, focusing on informing, influencing, and relationship-building.
• Strong consultative skills, which include the proven ability to influence consensus decision-making across a variety of stakeholders and to succinctly document the outcome of these decisions.
