FSCA, the largest independent fleet maintenance company in the country, is currently hiring a Paint Sandblaster. As a Paint Sandblaster under minimal supervision, prepare customer equipment, product, and assemblies for media blasting. Perform handling, preparation, media blasting and inspection duties as defined by customer requirements.
Duties:
- Examine damaged vehicles and paint vehicle body components on various commercial trucks, buses, and trailers.
- Produce sprayed paint finishes with little or no dirt and a consistent gloss and texture matching the OEM finish without the need to sand and buff.
- Mix paint and spray using XALTA SYSTEM PAINTS
- Perform spot-in repairs.
- Clean and inspect parts prior to painting.
- Follow all procedures for a quality, lasting paint finish.
- Be able to mix and spray all products used.
- Maintain spray equipment to meet operational standards, but not including repair of equipment.
- Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.
- File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces.
- Prep truck / vehicle bodies and components for painting.
- Fill depressions with body filler, patch holes and work with Fiberglass.
- Support ad-hoc projects related to the DFS priorities and initiatives.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of related vehicle body painting and / or collision repair experience and/or associate formal training.
- High School Diploma or and equivalent combination of education. Technical school is a plus.
- Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions.
- Experience with XALTA System Paints
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task and apply initiative.
- Positive attitude, Safety conscious, good instincts, and self-motivation
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
- Able to read and interpret shop orders to determine the color required.
- Able to determine the proper surface condition for acceptance of paint and prepare if required.
- Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
