Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Sr. Manager role is pivotal in assisting the execution of analytic strategies and tactical plans as it relates to the vehicle merchandising, marketing and buying experience. This individual must show proven success using data and insights to collaborate across business functions such as Marketing, Sales, Operations, Products and Engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an enterprise-class workplace and using data analysis to produce actionable insights. This individual must demonstrate a continuous passion for supporting a culture of collaboration, discovery and learning.

Candidates should have deep technical expertise in navigating diverse database architectures and data ecosystems—including relational databases, data lakes, and cloud-based warehouses—with the ability to critically evaluate data lineage, quality, and integrity. They must possess strong statistical acumen to validate analytical outputs, identify anomalies, and ensure data accuracy across disparate sources. Knowledge of business concepts and associated data as it relates to market analysis, digital marketing, website performance, inventory merchandising, and/or CRM/retailing solutions is essential. Exposure to emerging technologies, including generative AI capabilities in analytics and reporting, is highly desirable to help drive innovation and efficiency.

Successful candidates will have advanced analytical skills, the ability to create reporting and analyses that tell a story with data while provide actionable recommendations. This individual will develop innovative analytics and reporting solutions that inform and influence decisioning across vehicle retailing functions. Using Business Intelligence tools such as MicroStrategy and Tableau, you’ll create scalable reporting while leveraging PowerPoint and SQL to create ad hoc presentations that bring together product performance data with customer and industry trends to tell a clear and concise story around the vehicle retailing process.

This role is expected to perform these duties with minimal daily oversight.

Please note, this role is an individual contributor position without direct reports.

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Operations to provide actionable insights on consumer behavior, advertising channel mix, and digital transactions/sales through data analytics, pre/post analysis, and statistical methods.

  • Partner with business leaders to identify and define key reporting and analysis metrics to inform the business' KPI framework.

  • Create standard and evolving reporting, analysis, and forecasting capabilities to support client optimization strategies and inform business decisioning.

  • Mine data from a variety of data sources and platforms (relational, NoSQL, data lakes, cloud warehouses) to surface strategies that improve ROI and program performance.

  • Develop and implement data validation frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical outputs—including cross-referencing source systems, identifying data drift, and reconciling discrepancies.

  • Apply statistical techniques (hypothesis testing, regression analysis, confidence intervals, anomaly detection) to validate findings, quantify uncertainty, and distinguish meaningful patterns from noise.

  • Leverage BI tools with AI capabilities to assist in generation of reports, dashboards, and stakeholder presentations.

  • Present directly to stakeholders, developing and articulating analytical concepts and summarized findings through cohesive narratives and compelling visual storytelling.

  • Collaborate with different departments and define requirements to improve our analytics suite.

  • Champion a healthy team culture and mentor team members.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of web, marketing, and/or commerce analytics experience

  • Experience working and leading groups within an agile environment

  • Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Marketing Platform, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and first-party consumer data sets

  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL with demonstrated ability to write complex queries across multiple database platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)

  • Experience with diverse data architectures including relational databases, columnar stores, data lakes (S3, Azure Data Lake), and semi-structured data formats (JSON, Parquet, Avro)

  • Familiarity with statistical programming languages (R, Python/pandas/scipy) for data validation and exploratory analysis

  • Ability to assess data integrity—including identifying missing data, duplicate records, schema inconsistencies, and upstream data quality issues

  • Experience with statistical validation techniques to verify data accuracy and analytical conclusions

  • Understanding of sampling methodologies, confidence intervals, and margin of error calculations

  • Proficiency with Tableau, MicroStrategy, or Power BI to create visualizations from disparate data sources

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel proficiency with large data sets, pivot tables, and automated data pulls

  • Ability to articulate business performance metrics through visualizations, presentations, and dashboards

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, think conceptually, and drive results

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
