Hourly pay rate is $13.80. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

This position is responsible for the safe movement, staging, and parking of vehicles on Auction property. The Auction Driver supports daily auction operations by driving vehicles to and from Auction lots, customer dealerships, and businesses, as well as driving vehicles through Auction sale lanes on designated sale days. All duties must be performed in compliance with Auction safety rules, driving regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely drive vehicles through Auction sale lanes on designated sale days.
  • Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction property, as well as to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, traffic laws, and defensive driving practices.
  • Line up, stage, and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by a supervisor or team leader; move vehicles as necessary and locate misplaced or “lost” vehicles.
  • Assist with basic vehicle operations as needed, including inflating tires and jump‑starting vehicles using approved battery boxes and air tanks.
  • Notify supervisor when vehicles are inoperable and communicate with Service or Gas Truck Drivers when vehicles require fuel.
  • Provide assistance to customers (including dealers, account representatives, rental agencies) and coworkers as needed to support Auction operations.
  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures and actively supporting Auction safety initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous auction or vehicle operations experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with both standard (manual) and automatic transmissions.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and walk long distances.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
