The Role

The Commercial Learning & Development team designs and delivers development programmes for all Commercial employees across the business. These programmes are specifically designed to increase and enhance capability across a core set of knowledge and skills. Your team of training managers will support you in this mission, alongside a handful of external providers where required.

You will partner closely with Commercial Leadership to design and deliver programmes that drive the required behaviour change, aligned to our business strategy. You will also work closely with Deliveroo’s Central L&D team, ensuring Commercial capabilities align with the wider Deliveroo learning and development strategy.

Beyond your own function you will be a key member of the Commercial Operations Management Team, reporting to the Commercial Operations Director. As part of this team you will contribute to defining and embedding our broader approach to commercial enablement, making the lives of our commercial teams more efficient and effective, ensuring that Deliveroo is known as the partner of choice to our restaurant, grocery and retail partners.

What you’ll be responsible for

Developing and delivering the commercial L&D curriculum:

  • Define, build and deliver a comprehensive development curriculum that ensures our Commercial employees have the knowledge and skills required to meet our growth objectives and is aligned to our core Commercial Competencies.
  • Define and build a consistent set of Commercial expectations and associated job descriptions for every Commercial role, in partnership with local Commercial leadership.
  • Manage the commercial induction process, ensuring content remains relevant and tailored by market (where applicable) to increase every new joiners’ speed to competence.
  • Where we partner with third-party training providers, manage the end to end relationship, including internal budgeting, consultation on program design, quality assurance and post program analysis.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of in-house programs, ensure alignment with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts and hold your training managers to account on quality assurance and post program analysis.
  • Maintain our LMS and associated content repositories so that Commercial teams can easily access program content and complete mandatory programs and their Leadership understands their teams’ completion against key milestones.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of all development programmes, reporting back to external providers and internal leadership, helping to make the case for future investment.

Collaborates effectively across a wide range of teams and stakeholder groups. Demonstrates a confident presentation style and communicates effectively upwards and downwards.
