Responsibilities:

1. As the representative of DJI, work closely with Japanese authorities on policies relevant to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and compliance of DJI products, in particular: (a) Continuously track and interpret policies implemented by the national government authorities (e.g. MLIT, MIC, METI) and local government authorities; (b) Build regulatory maps and compliance frameworks for different flight modes and scenarios (VLOS/BVLOS, nighttime/daytime, DID areas, airport perimeters, 150 m altitude, etc.); (c) Negotiate regulatory matters with the national and local government authorities; and (d) Lead external engagement: regulators, industry associations, standards bodies. 2. Lead UAS Type Certification of DJI products in collaboration with the Headquarters (HQ). 3. Provide local compliance guide to HQ.

Requirements:

Required qualifications, skills and experience: 1. Bachelor’s degree or above in science and engineering. 2. Language proficiency in native or equivalent level of Japanese and business-level of English (TOEIC L&R 800~ or equivalent). 3. 5+ years' experience in external relations/affairs or project/program management. 4. Proven skills of project management, including prioritization, resource planning, scheduling. 5. High level of cross-functional leadership among different departments (e.g. R&D, market & sales, back office). 6. Resilience and a strong ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes high-pressure environment. Preferred skills and experience: 1. Expertise in aeronautical or mechanical engineering. 2. Experience as a regulator or policy planner in a national/local government authority. 3. Technical experience in civil aviation industry including manned aircraft and UAS. 4. Proven skills in regulatory interpretation, risk assessment, audit response and documentation . 5. Engagement in UAS Type Certification activities in Japan.
