Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with product, design, and business teams.

We are looking for our next Senior Engineering Manager to join our OS Platform domain in Berlin. You will join a team of hard working entrepreneurs, who are passionate about transforming healthcare and play an active role in shaping a fast-growing company from day one!

What you’ll do

You will be both a technical leader and a people manager, coaching and training your team members while building an amazing engineering organization at Doctolib. In this role, you will:

  • Bootstrap a high performing mobile team of 6+ members to ensure business objectives are met as a team
  • Raise the bar in hiring and growing a diverse team by collaborating with the talent team and other engineering leaders
  • Build, lead, and empower a user centric team, that delivers best in class internal and external user satisfaction
  • Together with your product partner, define a mission, vision for your team and align on a clear roadmap to make it happen
  • Be the end-to-end owner of the team’s production, quality, and delivery while having positive team engagement scores
  • Set standards and exceed security, reliability, performance and scalability requirements that are needed to continue to be the most trusted e-health SaaS
  • Drive continuous process improvements for managing, documenting, staffing, and reviewing engineering projects and services
  • Mentor and coach your team members to help them get even better every day
  • Participate in architecture reviews to ensure that the solution delivered by your team meets Doctolib quality standards
  • Lead cross functional initiatives to up-level our engineering team

Who you are

  • You have at least 8+ years of software engineering experience and 2+ years of management experience
  • You have experience scaling and leading a technical organization (5+ members), while implementing best-in-class methodologies
  • You have strong technical skills, with a track record of working in a monolith but also building capabilities outside of it in a scalable way.
  • You have experience in building, testing and operating scalable mobile apps in production
  • You are not expected to code on a daily basis, but you don’t mind getting your hands dirty when needed to support your team.
  • You are familiar with the best practices of mobile development, feature experimentation and progressive rollout

You are an effective communicator with the ability to translate company goals into team objectives

  • You think critically and objectively; with a solutions oriented approach while adapting to the most efficient technologies
