What you'll do

As the Sales Compensation Manager, you will play a key role in aligning sales behaviors and desired outcomes on go-to-market strategy and objectives through sales incentives. In this role you will partner with the Director of Sales Compensation Strategy to align with go-to-market leaders and the executive team as you support the sales compensation plan, design, policy, roll-out, administration and the exception management process. The right candidate is data driven, collaborative and comfortable running cross-functional meetings. We are looking for someone who can proactively identify and solve problems while also driving tactical and strategic execution.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Director of Sales Compensation Strategy.


Responsibility

  • Work closely with the Director of Sales Compensation Strategy and actively participate during the annual planning cycle to understand commissionable roles and the sales go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment of compensation plans with business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization including but not limited to Sales Strategy & Ops, Finance and HR
  • Interact routinely with cross-functional partners and collaborators and effectively influence
  • Be involved in developing, modifying and implementing sales compensation related policies that affect immediate operations and may also have a wide sales organization effect
  • Deliver projects or work that enable the assigned function to achieve its strategic and operational goals and objectives
  • Plan effective customer communications for process and approach to completing assigned work
  • Benchmark competitive practices to ensure sales plans get results and help attract and retain top talent
  • Communicate and pass requirements to the implementation lead for sales compensation plans, ensuring that designs and calculations meet specifications
  • Develop and improve documentation, and support strong internal controls
  • Manage and maintain all sales compensation policies and communications
  • Lead change management processes with enablement to the WWFO and sales development teams by clearly communicating and educating the teams on compensation plan changes while ensuring transparency and understanding
  • Build and manage a small to mid-size team of sales compensation analysts working on non-standard /non-routine assignments that require increasing judgment and discretion
  • Own the plan launch process for fiscal year comp plan distribution

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 5+ years of experience in sales compensation design and management
  • BA/BS in a related field
  • Experience with Xactly or similar compensation platform

Preferred

  • Certified Sales Compensation Professional (CSCP certified)
  • In depth knowledge of sales compensation plan design, principle and best practices
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce and G Suite, with the ability to use these tools to streamline processes and workflows
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $122,300.00 - $190,650.00 base salary

Illinois: $116,500.00 - $160,150.00 base salary

Washington: $116,500.00 - $168,200.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
