Our Cloud Platform and Services “CP&S” team - is in the business of trust and reliability. We create, maintain and operate scalable technology and data solutions that deliver an exceptional experience for our internal and external customers. We embrace Agile principles and values, favor DevOps practices, and view infrastructure as code, all while we create an infrastructure that scales and supports our growth and ambitious vision. This requires a smart, highly collaborative team who can identify, investigate, and implement new technologies to continue securely scaling our global business.


The Cloud Platform Engineer plays a key role in the implementation, management, support, and maintenance of Docusign’s Cloud infrastructure. An ideal candidate is an experienced engineer that has proven expertise in architecting, managing and automating large and complex Cloud Infrastructure. This person will collaborate and partner closely with different engineering teams to help lead cloud implementations. We invest in tooling, automation, and infrastructure that reduces friction for engineers to develop and manage software and services. The successful candidate must be self-directed and self-motivated, yet capable of taking instruction and feedback.


This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of DevOps Engineering.


Responsibility

  • Lead and participate in the design and implementation of major shared infrastructure components to improve the availability and scalability of our services
  • Build tooling and automation to support and increase the accessibility of our platform, with the goal of increasing the velocity of our product teams
  • Engage in on-call support as part of a rotation schedule with other team members
  • Support services from inception to delivery by bringing a cross-stack perspective on system design, self-service, scalability, automation, capacity, and reliability

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • 8+ years in software engineering, Cloud operations, DevOps or a similar role
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
  • 5+ years of experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS or Azure)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies
  • 3+ years of experience programming with Python and Terraform for automation and developing scalable applications
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or relevant experience

Preferred

  • In depth and hands-on experience working with AWS or Azure
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate)
  • Experience with container orchestration and management using Kubernetes, along with proficiency in Docker for containerization
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Good understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and securing cloud applications
