About The Role

As Chief Compliance Officer, you will lead and manage the Singapore compliance function, oversee the development and implementation of compliance programs, monitor regulatory changes, and guide cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with MAS along with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the Singapore compliance functions of a MAS Capital Markets licensee that will conduct business with Singapore institutional clients
  • Identify and apply options for efficiencies in Singapore compliance operations
  • Ensure compliance with MAS and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Direct the governance, development, delivery and maintenance of best-in-class compliance programs, policies, processes and practices (which includes the provision of local training). This includes undertaking an annual enterprise-wide risk assessment for presentation to DriveWealth Singapore’s board and other senior leaders
  • Handle all enquiries from the MAS (including MAS reporting), and respond to audits and regulatory assessments and own the remediation of any identified issues
  • Participate as a guest at quarterly board meetings, providing compliance insights, new compliance initiatives and regulatory developments within Singapore
  • Actively participate in new business initiatives, and changes to the products and services offered
  • Partner with the relevant business, compliance and legal teams across DriveWealth to drive growth, in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assume responsibility for DriveWealth Singapore’s Qualified Intermediary reporting requirements
  • Discharge duties as the responsible Anti Money Laundering Officer

What You’ll Need

  • University degree relevant to business or finance
  • 7-10 years of experience in a financial institution, including 2–3 years in a senior role, with coverage of corporate governance, anti-money laundering, securities compliance, market misconduct, risk assessment and data protection topics
  • Experience in dealing with the regulator, including previous involvement with regulatory inspections
  • A solid working experience with Singapore’s Securities and Futures Act (and associated regulations, notices and guidelines)
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Experience as a supervisor, preferably including cross-border/remote teams
  • Strong project management, organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently, handle multiple projects and availability to take calls and meeting appointments outside local working hours
  • Professional certifications like CAMS and CIPP, and experience with Tax relevant matters like Qualified Intermediary, FATCA and CRS will be advantageous
  • Familiarity with equities, options, fixed income, mutual funds; knowledge of relevant regulations as they apply to order routing, execution services, and electronic reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, and implement changes, particularly as it relates to broker-dealer compliance
