Our Finance team builds the financial infrastructure to scale our growing company. We combine analytical and strategic thinking to develop a sound financial future for our global brand. We work closely with teams across the company, as well as with external partners.
Role Description
The Finance team is responsible for developing and executing on Dropbox’s financial strategy and is hiring world-class employees to tackle the challenges ahead of us. As the Senior Revenue Manager, you will be a key leader within the accounting team, with visibility across the entire Finance organization and senior leadership. You will be pivotal in overseeing all of Dropbox’s self-serve revenue, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing dedicated insights to management. The Senior Revenue Manager will lead the monthly close process, manage quarterly reviews and the year-end audit, and ensure SOX compliance. You will manage a team of dynamic accounting professionals and you will further lead projects contributing to continuous improvement for a best in class Revenue Accounting function. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely results are delivered to management
- Lead the quarterly revenue reporting package process, including variance analyses and quarterly close decks presented to the Chief Financial Officer, and continue to drive robust analysis of trends across key business drivers
- Participate in the development of strategies to improve revenue accounting operations effectiveness, including the development and execution of organizational, process and system changes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams working on Dropbox’s product portfolio, ensuring all aspects of the order-to-cash process are set up for success at scale
- Drive continuous refinements in our accounting processes with a focus on efficiency while driving improved visibility into key metrics
- Manage a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of and professional development.
- Owner of key processes and controls in the order-to-cash cycle; create and maintain robust documentation to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Coordinate and manage external and internal audits, including quarterly reviews and the year-end audit
- Partner closely with the Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Financial Reporting Teams to ensure collaboration between teams, as well as accurate and timely reporting
- Lead or assist with various ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
- 6+ years experience in revenue accounting
- SaaS industry experience
- Experience in applying revenue accounting guidance, especially for subscription-based companies (ASC 606)
- Prior experience driving and scaling complex, cross-functional, data intensive processes
- Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively and build strong relationships across all levels of the company and cross-functional business partners
- Proven leadership and people-management skills
- Results and detail oriented with the ability to take individual responsibility for delivering high quality work in a timely manner and managing ambiguity
- Strategic thinker that demonstrates active enthusiasm for solving problems and making valuable contributions to the company, including experience in leading projects related to complex transactions
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Big 4 accounting firm experience
- Experience in the SaaS industry, specifically with high volume, low value transactions and experience at a publicly traded company
- Experience with Oracle ERP
- Familiarity with Alteryx and other automation tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

The range(s) listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE (On-Target Earnings) for this role, subject to change.
Please note, OTE are for sales roles only.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.
Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:
• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro
• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington DC metro, and West Virginia (DC metro)
• US Zone 3: All other US locations
