Dropbox is a Virtual First company. For this role, we are currently only authorized to hire candidates from the following provinces: Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
Role Description
As a Senior Client Platform Engineer focused on CorpFleet Engineering, you will play a key role in shaping and operating Dropbox’s Windows endpoint platform. You will drive high-impact work across Windows endpoint management, platform reliability, security and compliance-driven improvements, operational automation, and cross-functional platform delivery. This role is centered on preserving and advancing senior ownership of the Windows endpoint area while helping improve how CorpFleet delivers scalable, reliable, and secure endpoint experiences for Dropboxers. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the long-term direction of Windows endpoint engineering at Dropbox while improving the daily experience and security posture of a critical internal platform.
You will work across partner teams including CorpInfra, IAM, Security, Corp IT, and support teams to define right-sized technical solutions, improve operational quality, and help clarify long-term ownership boundaries across endpoint and Corp Infrastructure-adjacent responsibilities. This is a strong fit for a senior engineer who enjoys ambiguous platform problems, values operational excellence, and wants to influence both technical direction and team effectiveness without moving into people management.
Responsibilities
- Own and advance CorpFleet’s Windows endpoint platform, including policy, management, reliability, and operational quality.
- Maintain and improve Windows endpoint management workflows, including Intune-related administration and device lifecycle processes.
- Drive security and compliance-related platform work, including application controls, privileged-access-related workflows, secrets-handling patterns, and endpoint visibility.
- Partner with CorpInfra, IAM, Security, Corp IT, and support teams on rollout planning, escalation paths, access dependencies, and ownership boundaries.
- Improve operational scalability through automation, documentation, runbooks, and better platform management practices.
- Lead cross-functional, multi-phase platform initiatives and make sound tradeoff decisions across reliability, security, employee experience, and team capacity.
- Mentor teammates and raise the bar on technical judgment, documentation quality, and operational execution.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in systems, platform, endpoint, or corporate engineering roles supporting production enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience managing Windows endpoints in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Intune or comparable Windows device management and policy tooling.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across endpoint configuration, update workflows, policy behavior, identity and access dependencies, and security controls.
- Experience with automation, scripting, and systems integration in production operational environments.
- Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems and lead cross-functional technical efforts from definition through execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation, runbooks, and technical decision-making artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FleetDM, osquery, Infrastructure-as-code, or GitOps-style endpoint and platform management.
- Experience with security and compliance-focused operational work such as privileged access workflows, secrets management, or endpoint compliance controls.
- Experience with Patch My PC, Automox, Chocolatey, or similar endpoint packaging and update tooling.
- Experience with cross-platform endpoint environments, including macOS or broader fleet management.
- Experience working closely with CorpInfra, IAM, or Security teams on boundary-heavy platform ownership problems.
Compensation
The range listed above is the expected annual salary/OTE (On-Target Earnings) for this role, subject to change.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
