Introduction:

Join our dynamic team as a Principal Data Scientist and lead the revolution in the hospitality industry by creating cutting-edge solutions for hotel demand and pricing prediction. We are looking for an experienced full-stack data scientist to develop machine learning models that drive strategic decision-making and optimize revenue. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, leading scientific efforts to enhance Duetto’s revenue management offerings, ultimately empowering hotels worldwide to make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of advanced scientific solutions for hotel pricing optimization and demand forecasting, utilizing statistical modeling, machine learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.
  • Apply price elasticity modeling, dynamic pricing, and optimization methods to address complex pricing challenges.
  • Implement deep learning, optimization and reinforcement learning techniques for forecasting and pricing problems.
  • Lead projects and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML solutions into products.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to translate model outputs into actionable pricing strategies.
  • Present findings and recommendations on pricing optimization and revenue growth to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering innovative solutions in fast-paced, data-driven environments, with a proven track record in pricing models and optimization techniques at scale.
  • Strong expertise in price elasticity modeling, dynamic pricing, and optimization algorithms, along with statistical and machine learning methods.
  • Possess a strong intuition for selecting appropriate methods, discerning when simpler solutions are needed versus complex ones, and capable of leading and conceiving projects in a startup environment.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment, balancing rigor, speed, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with ML/DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, DARTS) and programming languages like Python, R, SQL.

Bonus / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in pricing optimization, revenue management, or demand forecasting.
  • Experience with causal inference and measurement methods for analyzing the impact of pricing algorithms on revenue
  • Experience with reinforcement learning for pricing optimization, decision-making, and consumer behavior modeling
