Hardware System Engineer - Sunnyvale CA

Job Description:

Meta is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this position you will be joining Meta's Smart Glasses team. As a Hardware Engineer, your main function is to research, design, develop, test high-density, wearable electronics.

Job Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience within Hardware Engineering, preferably HW/EE generalist backgrounds with exposure to consumer electronics with or similar industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge within Electrical Engineering concepts/fundamentals
  • Prior experience with any of the following systems; sensors, wireless, low power devices, audio, display interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIE, SPI, I2C)
  • Hand-on experience in the lab for signal integrity and power integrity measurements
  • HW EE validation, end-to-end system integration and/or validation
  • Familiarity with flex, rigid, HDI, and rigid-flex PCB boards, integrated circuits, and low power devices
  • Experience with Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC)
  • Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulations
  • Experience working on Qualcomm SoC (plus)
  • Experience with system in package (SiP)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design test and validate SoC, SiP, and MLB boards for Meta AR/VR/Smart glasses
  • Review and approve plan layout, including type of computers and peripheral equipment modifications.
  • Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
  • Supervise functioning of equipment and approve modifications to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
  • Write detailed functional specifications that document the hardware development process and support hardware introduction.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Provide training and support to system designers and users.
  • Design and develop computer hardware and support peripherals, including central processing units (CPUs), support logic, microprocessors, custom integrated circuits, and printers and disk drives.
  • Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.
